| Morbihan, meaning “little sea” in Breton, takes its name from the vast inlet, almost a salt-water lagoon, around which it wraps itself. Holiday villas, of which there are many, are all fairly close to the coast and the rugged beaches. Birdwatchers enjoy some of the proliferation of species in protected sanctuaries. Elsewhere there are cairns, menhirs and dolmens to explore.
Many gites, holiday cottages and self-catering rentals are available in this area for you to rent throughout the year.
