The Byre is a two bedroomed self catering, stone holiday cottage located in the farm steading of Scotchcoulthard near Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland.
It is one of five holiday cottages with acres of land, an indoor swimming pool, wood burning stove and dogs welcome.
Scotchcoulthard lies four miles north of Hadrian's Wall at its highest point half way between Carlisle and Newcastle. We are located in the beautiful and unspoilt Northumbrian National Park and have 180 acres of upland farm which our guests are free to roam. We are a small farm with some Rare Breed sheep, hens and pigs.
Children and pets are welcome as there is plenty of space to play outside and a games room with table tennis, books, dvd's and games.
A large living area occupies one end of The Byre. The room extends into the pitch and there is a massive timber 'A' frame together with other exposed beams.There are two sofas and a wood burning stove.
Outside the cottage is a patio area with table and chairs. There is a television, DVD player and digital box.
Raised a step above the living room is the fully equipped kitchen. A door leads from the entrance way to a short passage off which are the two bedrooms and a shower room.
The master bedroom is a large double room with en-suite facilities including a large double ended bath. The second room has two single beds and a truckle bed for a child if required.

Local activities in and around Haltwhistle, North
There is walking on Hadrian's Wall. The Lake District is 1 hour away as is the glorious Northumbrian coast. Gretna Green, in Scotland, is 30 miles away. Newcastle City Centre with attractions such as The Sage and Millenium Bridge on the quay side is under 1 hour away.

Rental Notes: We welcome short breaks and can cope with parties of up to 20. One of the cottages (High Tipalt) can seat up to 12. We have a games room that can be used for dancing etc.
We normally run Saturday to Saturday but are flexible. Throughout July and August we are running Friday to Friday.
Arrival and departure times are 4.00pm and 10.00am but again we are flexible.
All linen, towels, heating & lighting, coal, logs and use of the swimming pool are included in the price.
This unit is situated in or next to other properties
should you wish to holiday with a larger group.
