Hope Sike is a one bedroomed self catering stone holiday cottage in the farm steading of Scotchcoulthard near Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland.
It is on of five holiday cottages with acres of land, an indoor swimming pool, real fire and dogs welcome.
Scotchcoulthard lies four miles north of Hadrian's Wall at it's highest point halfway between Carlisle and Newcastle. We are located in the unspolit are of The Northumrian National Park.
Scotchcoulthard is run as a holiday cottage business with five cottages sleeping from 1 to 7 and is also a small farm. It is set in 180 acres of upland on which guests are free to roam.There are Rare Breed animals including pigs, hens and sheep.
We welcome pets and children. There is a games room with table tennis, toys and games. There is also an indoor heated swimming pool.

Hope Sike was designed as an extra cottage for grandparents or teenagers or just more guests to compliment one of the other cottages. However we find it a popular cottage in its own right. From the small entrance hall one enters the living area with stone flagged floor. This room rises high into the pitch and has roof lights and windows catching the early morning sun.
There is a Victorian fireplace rescued from the old farmhouse and bounded by cupboards. In a long recess there is a kitchen with twin sinks, double electric hob, combination microwave and fridge.
There are french doors, with incredible views across miles of open countryside, leading to an area with seats and table for the summer evenings. The bedroom has a kingsize bed which can be split into two and a bathroom with a large double ended bath.

Communal Pool, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. The pool is indoor and heated throughout the year although at times in the winter it may be off.

Local activities in and around Haltwhistle, North
There is walking on Hadrian's Wall. The Lake District is 1 hour away as is the glorious Northumbrian coast. Gretna Green, in Scotland, is 30 miles away. Newcastle City Centre with attractions such as The Sage and Millenium Bridge on the quay side is under one hour away.

Rental Notes: We welcome short breaks and can cope with parties of up to 20. One of the cottages(High Tipalt) can seat up to 12, and we have a games room that is available for larger parties and can be used for dancing etc. We normally run Saturday to Saturday but are flexible.
Arrival and departure times are 4.00pm and 10.00am but again we can be flexible. All linen, towels, heating & lighting, coal. logs and use of swimming pool are included in the price.
