The stone-built cottage with own garage has oak beams throughout, with all the home comforts you would expect. It is situated in a beautiful setting with great views; an ideal base for exploring the area, or just relaxing. We welcome you with a 'starter pack' of food and drink items on arrival.
Entrance is gained via a fruit tree-lined driveway, with fields all around. The cottage has its own garage and is on the south facing side of a gentle valley overlooking the forest on the horizon. Deer and birds of prey can regularly be seen, and there are beautiful walks in the forest abounding with wild flowers. The cottage is near a tranquil village, but also ideally placed for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The cottage sleeps 4 people. All electricity and linen are provided also with some towels, although you may wish to bring more.

Local activities in and around Bergerac, Aquitaine/Dordogne
There are markets for fresh fruit and vegetables to be found on most days in the local villages, and other markets are held in the squares of Bergerac. During the summer period there are many festivals, and the owners can inform you of special activities. There is a golf course within 2 miles, and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
Within a 10 minute drive there is a lake with beach at Lanquais, next to the chateau. There are horseriding and tennis facilities nearby, and the River Dordogne is also within 2 miles for boat trips, canoeing and fishing. The local wines include Pecharmant, Bergerac, Monbazillac and Bordeaux.
There is an amazing choice of food, including duck, foie gras and truffles. Exciting visits include the prehistoric caves at Lascaux and, of course, the Dordogne valley itself with its spectacular scenery and plenty of dramatic and beautiful chateaux, many of which have wine-tasting tours.
The areas of Sarlat, Domme, Monbazillac and Perigueux are all nearby. The Dordogne area is renowned for its long hot summers, the warm and pleasant weather usually extending from April to late October.

Rental Notes: Change over days are usually Saturdays, but it is possible to arrange for a different start day. A discount can be negotiated for periods of more than 2 weeks. Linen and some towels are included in the rental fee. Heating is included in the price. A cot can be supplied on request. We can also accept payment in euros.
Your accommodation is available from 5pm on your start day until 10am on the day of departure. Please note that we do not accept any pets. The accommodation provided is self-catering and must be left clean and tidy. You are required to have your own insurance for all your personal possessions.
Payments: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance of payment is required not less than 10 weeks before commencement of your stay.
A security deposit is required on arrival of £150/200 euros to cover damages/breakages/excess cleaning, which is returned to you on departure (less any costs).
