The Tortoiseshell Cottage enjoys a rural and peaceful setting overlooking a pretty fishing lake in the village of East Ruston, near Wroxham. It is ideal for a relaxing holiday, a base to explore Norfolk and the broads, with walks and sandy beaches close by.
It is a short stroll to ‘The Butchers Arms’ the local pub which serves good food. Weavers Way (a disused railway path) can be accessed only 150 metres away, for those that enjoy a good walk. The town of Stalham is a short drive away and has all the essential amenities like newsagents, local shops, banks, chemist, takeaways, pubs, and even a Tesco with garage. Popular villages and towns like Horning, Wroxham (for the broads and day boat hire), North Walsham, Cromer and Great Yarmouth, are within easy reach. Several sandy beaches like Sea Palling and Mundesley are within 4 miles and are great for the family and walks. Norwich is only a 25 minute drive away, a great place for shopping and sightseeing, with easy access including a park and ride. There are several National Trust properties near by. And even a little fishing on your doorstep!
The Tortoiseshell is a two bedroom cottage sleeping 4. The ground floor is open plan, a comfortable lounge, TV, DVD, video and stereo (a library of videos, CDs and books are provided), dining table, a well equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge freezer. Sliding patio doors from the lounge open onto a south facing private patio area overlooking the lake. The first floor has two bedrooms; one double with views overlooking the lake to the rear, and one twin with countryside views to the front, both have a built-in wardrobe and drawers. A travel cot and highchair are available free of charge. Bathroom with shower over bath. There are two parking spaces at the front of the cottage. Sorry no pets or smoking. Fishing in the small lake directly behind the cottage is included free of charge, more extensive fishing is available at the adjacent fishery for a small charge.
