Converted from a brewery that for many years belonged to our family, we have refurbished Summer Cottage to an impressive standard.
The spacious and beautifully appointed sitting room has a cosy log fire, and opens onto a massive balcony table and chairs where we enjoy beautiful views, and where we often enjoy morning coffee and even a meal at the end of the day!
Our delightful cottage kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge, and we have plenty of room for our rustic dining table which comfortably seats eight next to our gorgeous Welsh dresser.
We have three charming and comfortable bedrooms: one double, one twin, and one with bunk beds; and for those extra guests we also have a really comfy double sofa-bed in the sitting room, and we can also accomodate little ones with cots.
Our brand new bathroom now includes a luxurious spa bath and shower, and we have added a beautiful shower room downstairs.
In the private garden we have all the garden furniture you need for entertaining including a Barebecue, and there is ample covered space for your bikes, boots and wet clothes to drip.
Summer Cottage is warm and welcoming and has everything you could need for a real home from home. it's a fantastic base for exploring the Lakes and the surrounding area, and we know you'll love it as much as we do!

Bedrooms:
1 Double Bedroom, 2 Twin Bedrooms. Sleeps up to 6, and 8 using a proper sofa-bed in the sitting room. We also have a Baby Cot which is available on request.

1 Bathroom, 1 Shower, 1 Separate WC. Luxury bathroom with spa bath!. Ground floor shower room with wash basin and WC.
Kitchen:
Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. The kitchen-diner is very spacious and has a real cottage feel to it.
General:
Real Fire, Central Heating, House Linen, Towels Provided. Logs to get you started, please replace these before you leave.

Seating for 8. High-Chair available.
Entertainment:
Terrestrial TV, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games. We have 2 fishing permits for use on over a dozen local WADAA lakes. In the sitting room there is a DVD player, lots of packs of cards, many board games, even carpet croquet and juggling!
Outside:
Garden, BBQ, Parking, Balcony, Garden Furniture. Shallow beck in back garden (1 foot deep).

Sitting room and one bedroom are on the first floor; the bathroom and the other two bedrooms are on the second floor. We do not allow pets in the bedrooms.
Local activities in and around Grange over Sands, North
Summer Cottage is situated in the charming village of Allithwaite, near Grange-over-Sands. There is a Post Office and general store, children's playground, tennis court, bowling green and football pitch and also an excellent pub/restaurants only 200 yards way.
Only 5 minutes away is Cartmel village, Home of the famous Sticky Toffee Pudding, with its impressive ancient Priory, picturesque town square and race course. It has many charming pubs, shops and restaurants.
Grange over Sands is also only 5 mins away, with its beautiful promenade, ornamental water gardens and shops.
Just outside Grange is the Ice Cream Farm, with calves, piglets and lambs to pet, delicious home made ice cream, and a wonderful children's play area.
Beatrix Potter's home, Hill Top, is 20 minutes away,.
Many major Cumbrian visitor attractions are only a 10 minutes away: Holker Hall, with its majestic gardens; home to summer concerts, excellent restaurant and food hall. The Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway takes you to the Aquarium of the Lakes and Windermere Lake Cruise Ships, which travel the full 12 miles of the lake. 30 Minutes away is the famous South Lakes Wild Animal Park.
10 minutes away are Levens Hall's world famous topiary garden, the largest in the world! Sizergh Castle's impresive gardens, and low Sizergh barn farm shop, where you can watch the cows being milked from the cafe.
We are in a great location for walking and cycling; about a mile away are the Cumbrian Coastal Path, the Cistercian Way (Both superb walking paths), and the Cumbrian Cycle route. Grizedale Forest which has superb way marked mountain bike trails and walking trails is just a few miles north.
The local fishing is excellent, with coarse, game and sea angling catered for; the Tackle shop in nearby Grange-over-Sands is very helpful. There are several golf courses nearby, two in Grange over Sands.
