Les Jasmins - Delightful cottage amid vines, near Carcassonne,
Cottage with 2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4, Garden
Visit mountains, medieval villages or the Mediterranean. 30 minutes from Carcassonne and Ryanair flights. The perfect place to relax and get away from it all. You will find Les Jasmins amid the vineyards of a small domaine called Fournery where our french neighbours produce wine [enjoy a couple of complimentary bottles on arrival]. The cottage has been, in its past, a farm building, a temporary home for grapepickers and a wine store. It has now been renovated to a high standard.
The open plan ground floor of the cottage has a living area, dining area and well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and full size electric oven and gas hob.
There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with twin beds. The bathroom has a w.c., washbasin and bath with integral shower. There is also the 'loo with a view' with a w.c. and washbasin. The wood burning stove in the living room makes it a cosy retreat in winter months with the stereo cd/tape/radio to help you create a relaxed atmosphere.
Outside, the small garden at the front of the house has car parking space and a terrace with table and chairs. The back terrace has spectacular views over the vines - the perfect place to enjoy rural tranquility and a glass of local wine.

Local activities in and around Limoux, Languedoc-Roussillon
The region offers a variety of beautiful scenery for driving, walking or cycling. The Pyrenees and the Mediterranean beaches are within easy reach while a visit to Spain and the Costa Brava or a shopping trip to Andorra offer alternatives for a day out.
Ten minutes away from Fournery is the old market town of Limoux, home of the local sparkling wine called Blanquette de Limoux. The town keeps up many of its traditional celebrations which take place at intervals throughout the year. There is a busy market every Friday and a flea market on the first Sunday of every month.
The area is steeped in medieval history, with abbeys and ancient castles dotted all around. The most famous of these is the impressive castle town of Carcassonne with its cobbled streets and restored walls. Why not take a boat trip down the Canal du Midi which runs through this region and or go for a stroll in the dappled sunlight along its canalside pathways.
An autumn visit gives you the opportunity to witness the grape harvest at first hand while at the same time enjoying the fruits of previous years. A relaxing winter break could include a trip to a ski resort for a day's skiing or just enjoy the snow from the comfort of a cosy restaurant. A visit in springtime is particularly attractive to nature lovers who want to explore the countryside and feast upon the profusion of wild flowers in the hills, in particular the wild orchids.
