This charming house is an 5 minute walk from the amenities at Prego and nearby the larger village of Santo Estevao and an 8 minute drive from the quaint and historic town of Tavira.
A variety of white sandy beach islands and lagoons are within a 10-15 minute drive. The house attracts plenty of natural sunlight, is very private and is a wonderful space for families to enjoy. The villa has SKY free-to-view television, stereo and a video player, a fully equipped kitchen with dining area and an outdoor dining table is near the built-in barbeque, under the shade of a large carob tree.
The pool is 5m by 4m, decked on two sides with pretty climbing plants bordering the other sides. Lounger beds, umbrellas and a small table are provided by the pool. Just nearby to Vila Barharra, wet your feet in a spectacular natural waterfall and a true 'blue lagoon'.
Vila Barharra has a light and airy living room with comfortable furnishings, an open fireplace, SKY free-to-view television, stereo and video player. Double sliding glass doors open onto a large, sunny, split-level patio facing the pool and flower beds. Perfect for warm outdoor life! The house is child and elderly people friendly in that it is securely walled and gated and there are no staircases, having only a few steps in the split level terraces outside.
A good location for a family holiday with easy access and short distances to a variety of places for different interests.
Tavira is renowned for its 38 historic churches and its four beautiful bridges spanning the Gilao river which divides the town and allows for spectacular riverside views of the medieval town and river life. Numerous cafes and restaurants line the river, public gardens and quiet squares, offering an array of traditional patisseries and fresh fish dishes. The castle walls border the medieval centre of town, encompassing tranquil gardens and a camera obscura. From here scan over the rich tapestry of peaked rooftops to the estuary leading through the mosaic of salt pans and far out into the Atlantic.

Local activities in and around Tavira, Eastern Algarve
Tavira Island beach is a 10 minute drive away. Reached by a short ride in a charming ferry (for a euro return!) you will discover wonderful golden, sandy beaches, beach bars and restaurants on an island 10 miles by 1. Sta Luzia village next to Tavira also has the beautiful beach of Barril, situated in a nature reserve and reached by a toy train. Within the Algarve there are over 100 beaches all within an hour to an hour and a half drive. Benamor golf course near Cabanas is a 10 minute drive with a further new golf course, Quinta da Ria another 10 minutes further down the road. Faro town and airport can be reached in 50 mins on the motorway.Faro has a large hypermarket, 12 screen cinema and shopping complex. One and half hour drive to Seville. Pop over to Spain in 20 mins to the first town, Ayamonte.
The nearest village is Prego which is a 5 minute walk. Prego has a small English-run Pub which serves food nightly and a local shop that sells essentials. Tavira is an 8 minute drive and has full amenities. There is a local town map in the house with amenities marked and some brochures of local attractions. Tavira can be reached in 15 mins by car, where there is a large variety of restaurants and supermarkets and daily fruit and fish market.
