We are situated at the edge of Mora d'Ebre - a small, rural town in the heart of the Ebro Valley. Not a tourist resort, here you can experience the true culture and traditions of Spain. Local shops, markets bars and restaurants are only 3-4 minutes walk. River and mountains on the doorstep and beaches of the Costa Dorada only 25 minutes drive.
This is a perfect location for families or groups who enjoy angling, walking, birdwatching and nature, horseriding or sightseeing. Or you can simply idle away the days and do nothing in peaceful, beautiful surroundings, away from the crowds.

Els Ocells (Catalan for “Birds”) is a one bedroom, top-floor apartment offering spacious, bright accommodation for up to 4 people.
At the rear of the apartment is a large, private terrace with sun-loungers and swing seat where you can relax and sunbathe.
At the front there is another terrace with patio table and chairs for outdoor eating and a stunning view over the river. In keeping with the apartment name it is also a great vantage point to watch the birdlife – so keep your binoculars handy!
Inside there is a spacious open-plan lounge and kitchen with modern units, granite worktops, full size hob, oven and an extensive range of crockery and cooking utensils.
The lounge is tastefully furnished with comfortable sofas and has TV, DVD and CD player. Patio doors lead from the lounge and kitchen to the front terrace.
The bedroom has 2 single beds and a further 2 people can be accommodated on the sofa-bed in the lounge.
Mora d’Ebre itself is a thriving, agricultural town with a population of around 5000. A holiday here is completely different from a holiday in a tourist resort or holiday complex. The town is small enough to retain a strong community feel but big enough to provide all the services you need. It has a surprisingly wide variety of bars, restaurants, supermarkets and stylish shops – even an Internet café.
In summer guests can also use the towns outdoor swimming pool which has lawned areas for sunbathing and a bar and restaurant. Nevertheless, it is still very much a rural Spanish town – and along with the modern facilities you are just as likely to see farmers driving their tractors through town with the trailers brimming with the current harvest or shepherds leading their flocks down to the riverbank to graze.

Terrace, Parking, Garden Furniture. Just 100 yards away is a riverside recreation area with picnic tables and BBQ facilities. Completely free - just take your charcoal and food along and enjoy an al-fresco meal beneath the trees.

Well … we don’t want to brag but we think that you get the best of everything here! Quality accommodation, a riverbank location, beautiful countryside, history and culture, all the conveniences of a small town AND beaches! Below are some of the many activities you can enjoy:
Fishing on the River Ebro - long renowned for its massive catfish, wild carp and other fish our apartments are superbly located to explore this wonderful river. Guided fishing trips are available locally if required or you can fish from the bank directly outside.
Walking/Cycling - If you are looking for a walking holiday in Spain this area has a wealth of signposted trails. From flat coastal routes to demanding mountain gradients there is something for all abilities, and wherever you go you will enjoy stunning scenery. We also have 5 mountain bikes at your disposal.
Birdwatching and Nature –The Ebro Delta is described as a birdwatchers paradise but you don’t need an extensive knowledge of birds to appreciate that up to 300 species of birds live here including almost 2000 greater flamingos. In the mountains of the Priorat region and Els Ports Natural Park there is also rich bird life an abundance of wildflowers and butterflies and even the Spanish Ibex. Guided tours are available.
History and Sightseeing –The city of Tarragona is a World Heritage Site due to its excellent Roman remains. Reus the birthplace of architect Antoni Gaudi has a pleasant shopping centre and Modernist Trail and Barcelona is only 2 hours away by car or train. Locally there are castles and caves, medieval villages and monasteries to explore.
Beaches - A 25 minute drive brings you to the golden beaches of the Costa Dorada where you can choose from deserted coves or pretty fishing ports. For a livelier day out you can visit Salou, Cambrils or the theme park Port Aventura.

Rental Notes: Summer rentals are usually from Saturday 4.00pm until Saturday 10.00am. However, we may be able to be flexible on this to so please contact us to enquire. A deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday.
Nearest airport is Reus (45 mins drive) Ryanair flies daily into Reus from London Stansted, London Luton, and Dublin. Barcelona airport is just short of 2 hours drive, low-cost airlines (Easyjet, Bmibaby, Monarch Etc) fly to Barcelona throughout the year from several regions of the UK. .
We recommend that you a hire a car to take full advantage of the area. However, if this isn’t possible we can arrange airport pickups and can also offer day excursions. We live on the first floor of the house in a separate apartment. We are therefore on hand to give advice and assistance if required but we will not intrude on your privacy!
