The apartment is ideally situated at the bottom of the Bellevue ski lift, offering virtually ski in ski out accommodation in the winter and great for hikers and mountain bikers in the summer. It is also located in the heart of the village with restaurants, bars ski/cycle hire shops and ski school on your doorstep.
Les Houches has retained it's alpine charm being quieter than its busy neighbour Chamonix, with pretty church and a market every Monday morning, boulangerie, local bars, restaurants and supermarkets. If you do desire the bright lights the bus to Chamonix. Great in both summer and winter!
The apartment combines modern spacious accommodation within a traditional building. The apartment is situated at the front of the building on the first floor where the main bedroom and balcony offers stunning views of the Mont Blanc mountain range.
The living area is spacious and comfortable and the sofa converts to a generous double bed if needed. A DVD player and flat screen TV are provided along with a CD player which is also ipod compatible. Some DVD's are available but you may want to bring your own. There is a selection of family games available for those evenings you want to spend just relaxing.
The apartment has two bedrooms. The first with a double bed and the second has a single cabin bed above a double sofa bed, allowing accommodation for either two singles or a double occupancy. The sofa bed also allows for extra living room accommodation if the kids want a place to "chill out" and play on the playstation (PS2) provided.
The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, including dishwasher! The bathroom comprises of bath with thermostatic shower as well as a washer dryer especially handy for those with kids! Wireless broadband access is also available in the apartment for a small extra charge per week.

Local activities in and around Chamonix, Rhone Alps
Winter: The ski area of Les Houches extends from an altitude of 950 metres to 1900 metres. The skiing is extremely varied, providing enjoyment for all abilities. There are 12 red runs, 5 blue runs and 4 green runs.
In addition there is an internationl black run which finishes opposite the building. This winter 2005/06, Les Houches will again host the Alpine World Cup (Men's Downhill & Slalom). "le Kandahar race"
Skiing in Les Houches is a real pleasure. Many of the runs are long descents meandering through pine and larch forests, set amongst beautiful scenery. From the resort summit there is a breathtaking 360° panorama of the Mont-Blanc range. In contrast to the other ski areas in the valley, Les Houches ski area offers a tempting number of Savoyard character restaurants. All are perfect for taking in the views, topping up your sun tan, and expanding your waistline! And because Les Houches ski area is independent of the Chamonix Ski Company, it stays comparably quiet during busy periods - the lift queues are never a problem here.
When necessary, artificial snow coverage is assured providing snow from the summit of the ski area right down to the foot of the village. In addition, the 'Tourchet' piste offers floodlit evening skiing every Thursday. You will discover a varied choice of pistes for: downhill, cross-country, surf, telemark or ski-jumping. It’s all here! The ski bus is free to Chamonix lift pass holders. The service connects all resorts in the Chamonix valley providing access to 700km of pistes. The bus to Chamonix is directly outside the apartment and takes 15 minutes from Les Houches.
Summer: Chamonix is one of the world capitals for outdoor activities, for short breaks or long holidays. Activities include: Golf is very popular see website for further details. Hill walking and Hiking. Mountain Biking. Glacier trekking. White water activities. Rock and indoor climbing. Riding. High wire activities. Tennis. Plus much more.
Rental Notes: Short Breaks now available from £50 per night. Minimum 3 night stay. We are only 50mins from Geneva airport!. Airport transfers can be arranged. Reservations should be confirmed by a 25% deposit which is non refundable. Rates are based on a one week stay arriving Saturday afternoon 4pm and departing the following Saturday 10am although we can be flexible if you let us know in advance. Linen for the double room and cleaning are included in the total cost. Please email for prices for other times.
