Sandwich is arguably the most complete historic medieval town in England with little changed since the Domesday Book. Explore the quaint streets or take a guided tour around Sandwich. Stroll down the riverbank to the beach or enjoy a cruise on the river taxi.
An end of terrace pretty Victorian cottage which has recently been modernised by putting in a luxurious victorian bathroom with roll top bath, power shower, sink, w.c and heated towel rail/radiator, completely tiled in the victorian style.
The fully equipped kitchen is new with electric cooker unit and separate gas hob. A belfast sink with french style taps and wooden worktops adds that bit of luxury. There is an archway leading into the utility area which houses the fridge freezer, automatic washing machine and dryer. Here there is also a separate w.c and wash hand basin. The floor is tiled in the kitchen and utility area.
There are two reception rooms, the front room can be used as an extra bedroom with a double sofabed and can be closed off from the middle room by the french doors. This is also a cosy sitting area with t.v, dvd player/dvds, coffee table,bookcase, games, sofa and armchair. The second lounge/dining room has an electric coal effect fire with lovely wooden fire surround, sofa, armchair,wall unit and music centre. The glass dining table opens out to seat upto 6 people, located near the french doors with views to garden.
The hall and reception rooms have laminate flooring and rugs. There are two double bedrooms. The front bedroom has a king size bed in pine, chair bed suitable for a child,pine double wardrobe,chest of drawers,mirrors, bedside cabinets, lamps, clock radio, ceiling fan & plenty of room for a travel cot. The back bedroom has two single beds, bedside cabinet with lamp and a wardrobe.
The garden is completely enclosed which is ideal for those with children and/or a dog. There is garden furniture and BBQ also a rotary clothes line. The driveway at the front of the cottage is blockpaved and can accommodate off road parking for two cars.
The property has gas central heating. There is a supplement for gas and electricity from October to March.Lovely bed linen and towels are included but please bring your own beach towels.

Explore the ancient cinque port of Sandwich with its medieval buildings, guided tours available. Art Deco cinema. Broadstairs once the holiday home of Charles Dickens is only a short drive with its wide sandy beaches. Spend a day or so shopping in France as Dover and the channel tunnel are within easy reach. Try the local wines, pop into the nearby vineyards and have a tasting. Lovely cycling and walking area. Nearby stables. There's usually something going on in Sandwich, concerts,festivals, golf tournaments. The British Open venue for 2011 is Royal St. Georges Sandwich.

The once a year Sandwich Festival is a must. Take a stroll along the riverbank or a lovely 1/2 hr walk down to Sandwich Bay, good beach when tide is out otherwise stoney. Bird observatory at Sandwich Bay.
Night life in nearby Margate and Ramsgate. Dover castle, Deal castle, Walmer castle (which was once the holiday home of The Queen Mother)Monks Wall Nature reserve, Gazen Salts nature reserve. Viking ship at Cliffsend, fishing, Westwood Cross shopping centre. Royal Observatory at Hurstmanceaux great for all the family, Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch railway.
This is a great location for golfers as the famous Royal St. George's course is only 5 min drive away. There are other courses that you can use, but if you are coming to watch or participate then look no further than Hyde-a-way cottage as you are sure of a warm welcome.
