Les Armengauds is a 100-year-old farmhouse set in 2 acres, and surrounded by the sunflower fields of South-West France.
Conveniently located, it is only 40 minutes from Carcassone airport; 50 minutes from Toulouse airport; and just under an hour from the Mediterranean beaches and the nearest ski station in the Pyrenees.
The nearest town is Revel (5 miles) which is well served with restaurants, shops, and it’s picture-postcard French market.
REVEL
This is the nearest town to Les Armengauds (8km) and offers an excellent range of restaurants and shops. It is famous for its "Art Meubles" with exquisite furniture shops lining the main road into the town. The other feature is the Saturday market where you can amble around the main square a see, smell and taste real French life at its best!
A beautiful lake fed from the Black Mountains, is only 6km from Les Armengauds. Created in the 17th century to supply water to the Canal du Midi, it offers a compelling number of activities.
If it's breathtaking panoramic views you are after, then this idyllic medieval town is perfect. Set atop a high plateau, the town can be seen from miles around. Climb to the town's viewing terrace, and you will be able to spot everything from Revel, Les Armengauds, the Black Mountains, the Pyrennees, and so much more!
World capital of the "Cassoulet" and set on the banks of the Canal du Midi (UNESCO Heritage site), this large town can offer shopping, dining and a number of other pursuits.
La cité de Carcassonne is an 11th and 13th century fortress city with Disneyesque turrets and fine Gothic cathedral. It is the second most visited tourist attraction in France (after the Eiffel Tower), and contains shops, restaurants, museums, apartments, and the cathedral.
The "pink city" (nick-named because of the majority of its buildings are painted in a rose-coloured paint) boasts France's third biggest city, with plenty of shopping and sight-seeing to satiate even the most hardened of shopaholics!
THE MED
The Mediterranean Sea is approximately an hour from Les Armengauds. The most convenient (and spacious, even in high season) beach is Narbonne Plage, although there are numerous other beaches to choose from.
The nearest ski station (les Monts d'Olmes) is approximately an hour from Les Armengauds. The Pyrenees has a total of 38 ski stations for downhill skiing, and 1000km of cross-country skiing.
