Situated in a very quiet residential area, a few steps to the sandy Blue Flag beaches, ferries to L’lle-d’Yeu, seaside walks, restaurants, daily markets (except Monday) and the town of St Gilles Croix de Vie. Janet and Mike provide family accommodation to a very high standard.
The price for all our accommodation is fully inclusive of heating, electricity, bed linen, bathroom towels. cleaning.
Our new purpose built spacious accommodation is now open, it has two double bedrooms one with a king size bed and the other with a king size bed and a full sized single bed as well. Both rooms are tastefully furnished with their own on-suite shower rooms and toilets. The bedroom with two beds and shower room has been designed for disabled access. The accommodation also benefits from a private rear terrace with tables and chairs as well as the large terrace at the front of the property which is for your sole use
There is a large living room with corner kitchen, comprising of a full cooker, combination microwave/grill/oven cooker, electric kettle, coffee machine, toaster, crockery cooking utensils etc. The dining area has a table, 5 chairs, small settee and TV.
There is also a high chair, baby cot, bath, all available on request. There is no charge for these with the self catering package. A discount is available to couples using one bedroom/showeroom, excepting July and August. With the bed and breakfast package there is no charge for children under two years old.
The accommodation is dual purpose and a bed and breakfast option can be taken for shorter stays and for couples or single people requiring just one room.
Breakfast is served in the owners house and consists of: Tea, coffee or chocolate, bread, croissants and brioche fresh from the bakery, local farm yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, jams and honey.

Local activities in and around St Hilaire De Riez , Charente/Vendee/W. Loire
The property is on the borders of St Gilles Croix de Vie and St Hilaire de Riez. Both towns border the coast and there are many events and activities organised in the summer season such as free magnificent firework displays and concerts for all tastes. There are a wealth of natural sites; the beautiful beaches, forests and country side. It is especially good for those who like walking or cycling with miles of foot paths and safe cycle tracks. Cycle hire is easy and plentiful.
There are daily market in either St Gilles or St Hilaire every day of the week except Monday. The feature of the markets has to be the fish and seafood most of which is caught by the local fishermen. St Gilles Croix de Vie is one of the most important fishing ports in France, famous for is sardines and anchovies. The local restaurants boast a wealth fish on the menus and you cannot visit the area without having moules frites (mussels and chips) at least once.

The Vendée Globe takes place every 4 years. It is first and foremost a human adventure. A round-the-world single-handed yacht race, sailed non-stop and without assistance on monohulls. It starts and finishes at Les Sables d'Olonne. Ever since it was first held in 1989, this race has had strong media and sporting impact. The town of Les Sables d'Olonne and the department of Vendée are privileged partners in this fabulous adventure. The challenge has been taken up by the world's best skippers.
