Burnham High Lighthouse - Lighthouse Tower to-let for unique holidays
Lighthouse with 3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6, Garden
Burnham High Lighthouse was built in 1830. It stands at 110 feet (33 meters) tall and was the first lighthouse in England to become fully automated. After painstaking restoration, it has now been converted to become Britain's first self-contained holiday let - set inside an eight-storey lighthouse tower. You, your friends and family now have the chance to live like a Lighthouse Keeper.
Sleep in round rooms (all-en suite), Dine in the lantern room with the best views in Somerset! Walk along the seashore with sand dunes & miles of beaches. The lighthouse has eight floors, visitors climb 120 stairs to reach the top floor lantern-room via a ship's ladder.
The tower accommodation comprises: Reception/Dining room, Three en-suite bedrooms, Bathroom, TV room, Galley Kitchen (Floor seven), Lantern room & Balcony.
The tower is comfortably furnished with all modern appliances & is centrally heated. Dedding, soaps and towels are provided.
Guests can use broadband Wire-free internet access anywhere inside the building free of charge, so don't forget to bring your laptop! The building is centrally heated and comfortably furnished with TV, DVD, a fully equipped kitchen area and a selection of games. The telephone accepts incoming calls only.
The tower is accessed via a pretty & secluded driveway with a small patio/barbecue area surrounded by mature plants. It is set back a few hundred meters from the beach.
Well behaved pets are welcome, but must be kept on the ground floor level at all times!
Because of the risk of fire the building is entirely Non-smoking.
Sandy boots, shoes and dogs must be hosed-down before entering the tower. The lantern room at the top of the tower has a re-enforced glass-floor. No shoes are to be worn in this area.
