Farmhouse with 3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 7, Garden, Swimming Pool
Spacious accommodation offered in this farmhouse comprising, salon, kitchen/diner and 3 double bedrooms, two with ensuite shower rooms and a separate shower room on the ground floor. Original features include exposed stone walls and original oak beams. Put up extends bed spaces to 7 plus a Travel cot.
Plenty of outdoor seating with 2 patio areas - one by the back door to catch the early morning sun and a larger one under shade. A large garden for the more energetic. Heated outdoor 12 by 7 metre pool with roman steps, the depth of the pool is 1.2 to 1.6 metres so most adults can keep their heads above water! Plenty of space to sit in the sun around the pool while you keep an eye on the youngsters. Pool heated with solar heating.
We are offering a meal service, choose from a wide range and have it served in your gite. Arrangements can be made to have it ready for when you arrive. We use, where possible, vegetables and fruit from our own garden.

Double glazed french doors lead into the light and airy kitchen which is fully fitted with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, oven and fridge/freezer. The sun shines into the kitchen in the mornings and coffee and fresh croissant on the side patio is a must. The oak refectory table seats 8 in comfort.
From the kitchen window look over the back garden to the pool. A step down takes you into the salon (once a stable) which has comfortable seating with a CD player, TV and DVD player, some books and games available. A log burner available for cooler evenings. The floors throughout the ground floor are tiled and easy to keep clean. The thick walls (60cm) keep the house refreshingly cool even in the hottest summer. Wifi is available.
The ground floor bedroom offers a king size bed and a small log burner with a showerroom adjacent. Here you can appreciate the magnificent oak beams. Two windows open onto the front of the property.
The stairs lead to the remaining 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin) on the first floor both with ensuite shower rooms complete with shower, sink and WC. The velux windows have sunblinds, as do the windows in each bedroom. There is plenty of hanging space and storage room. Bedside lights and rugs in each room. The upstairs rooms have lofty ceilings, each clad in tongue and grooved pine with the A beams exposed, making the rooms light and airy.
Can sleep 7 in comfort, a put-u-up bed is available to add to any bedroom. Travel cot available. Shower rooms have roomy corner shower cubicles, vanity units with large mirrors, shaving points and above mirror lighting. Each shower room has a blown air heater. Central heating has been added to house for comfort during the winter season.
We are pleased to offer guests the option to 'eat in', choose from a varied menu and the meal is prepared and served to you. Where possible fruit and veg from our garden.

3 Showers. All showerrooms have toilet and vanity sink with large mirror and shaver sockets. Blown air heaters in each room. Towels are supplied but not for Pool use.

Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. Plenty of working space and electric points. Window overlooks garden. Small herb garden outside back door. Fully equipped.
General:
Real Fire, Central Heating, House Linen, Towels Provided, Internet Access. The log burner is available when the evenings are cooler. An extra charge for wood. Central heating has been added to all rooms for the winter months. Wifi access available.
Dining:
Seating for 8. The kitchen diner is spacious with window overlooking the back garden and pool. The room has two aspects and catchs the morning sun.

Although smokers are welcome, we ask all smokers to please smoke outside the house and to dispose of cigarettes correctly. Approach suitable for wheelchair but steps indoors preclude.
Local activities in and around Redon, Charente/Vendee/W. Loire
Nearby rivers offer a variety of activities, canoeing, walking, cycling, boating. Riding stables only 6 miles away. Microlight flights available nearby.
Famous motor museum at Loheac, 20 mins away. Nantes is an attractive city with historic centre and is 40 mins to the south. Recently opened in Nantes is the Iles aux Machines, these are mechanical 'animals' and move, i.e. the mammoth elephant can take up to 35 people for a ride. Nantes boasts a chateau with museum. The town of Guerande is completely surrounded by a complete wall, generally free of traffic it is a very interesting small town set on the edge of the salt flats where they still collect salt to this day. Further up the coast is the La Croisic, a small fishing village. A large Aquarium to be found on the outskirts of La Croisic.
Scenic towns of Rochefort en Terre and Roche Bernard within easy reach, the later being on the Vilaine and well worth a visit.
Redon, 24 kms away is the nearest town. St Nazaire an easy hours drive, was the wartime site of Uboats.
The city of Dinard an hour's drive has Medieval weekends in June every two years (2006).
Josselin boasts the largest chateaux in the area and rises majestically from the bank of the Vilaine. The Muscadet wine growing area is just south of Nantes and abounds with sites to visit, taste the wine and buy direct. Canoes can be hired from the local town for trips down the Cher or Don.
Local horse racing takes part in Guemene Penfao or nearby Grand Fougeray - usually they are the trotting races. The standing stones for which Brittany is well known are nearby at St Just or further afield just west of Vannes at Concarneau.
Markets - Large market at Redon (Mon), Rennes (Sat) and a small one in Guemene Penfao. Plenty of sites in the area for children to enjoy.
Les Machines de l'lle
Gigantic mechanical structures, the first to be completed being a mammoth elephant which walked and trumpeted and can carry up to 35 passengers.
A day out at the factory where this superb liqueur is distilled. About 90 mins drive near Angers, which has a magnificent chateau which is well worth a visit.
Directions will be sent when booking. A very easy drive from the channel ports and around an hour's drive from 3 airports - Ryanair serves Nantes and Dinard, Flybe comes into Rennes.
