Local activities in and around Penzance, South West
The main activity is walking but the Barn is also convinent for the great surfing beach of Sennen. Most guest find the barn very central to all the tourist highllights such as St Ives and the Minack Theatre. Eden is an hour door to door. Penzance is the main town and is a 10min drive, the promenade is lovely early evening, although a great favourite with guests is to sit outside the barn with a glass of wine and watch the activity on the resevior. The previous guests have felt they are in the centre of a wonderful holiday resort without the crowds or traffic to contend with. Another favourte is an early evening walk up to the Sancreed Beacon from were you can see both coastlines and visit the Holy Well.
The area is known for fantastic walks set below Sancreed Beacon from which there are amazing views of Mounts Bay. Nearby is the Sancreed Holy Well. The beaches Sennen Cove, Mounts Bay and Porthmeor are within 15 mins of which Sennen Cove is the most beautiful a long beach famous for surfing. St Ives is 20 mins away with the imposing Tate Gallery building and many other tourists attractions also some superb restaurants. Mousehole, Newlyn and Lamorna are nearby and well worth a visit as is Penzance itself a rural town with a good selection of small shops although ther are also two supermarkets on the outskirts of town. The most unique attraction is the Minack theatre carved out of the granite cliffs, with the backdrop being the sea and often if you are lucky a superb sunset. Eden the 8th wonder (so it is said) of the World can be done in 1 hour from door to door. Best of all is the location of the barn itself right in the middle of te peninsula in oustanding countryside.
The Minack Theatre
The Famous open air Theatre in the south west of Cornwall.
