On a small organic farm above the coast of Asturias, El Pajar has been restored with exposed stone walls, high wooden beam ceilings, beautiful tiling and chestnut floors. Sunny and bright it is a great home away from home with a woodburning stove in the living room for enjoying cooler evenings. In quiet surroundings, just up from the coast, enjoy the rural setting.
El Pajar has been completely restored and is now an attractive, comfortable holiday home for 2. The cottage is all on one floor, furnished with a mix of antique and new pieces. It has an open-plan living/dining room with a new wood burning stove and the old bread oven still intact. The well-equipped corner kitchen is tiled in blue and white. The bedroom invites with its large double bed, en-suite bathroom and writing table.
There is a small terrace with a table and chairs at the entrance and to the side a garden area with more outdoor furniture. The vegetable garden is behind the cottage. The views from El Pajar are of the mountains and hillside villages just beyond the "horreo", the traditional Asturian grain barn on stilts.
Three more vacation homes are found on the place. Los Balagos (2) is next door and La Cumbre (2-6, with special rates for couples) is in front and our last renovation, El Balcon (2) is just up the hill. The owners, Spanish and American, live across the way to the back. Happily there is plenty of parking and space for everyone with separate garden areas for each house.
Spend time relaxing, reading and walking the old paths leading off the property to include the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage route or spend your days exploring the many beaches and villages along the coast. We are available to help with translations and reservations and are happy to include a few local tips.

"We greatly enjoyed our stay in El Pajar. The views are beautiful and you have done a great job restoring the place. We especially appreciated the well-equipped kitchen for trying our hand at some Spanish cuisine.
The wood stove was great on chilly evenings and the accomodation was totally comfortable.
