"Cielo" is a comfortable holiday cottage with a large swimming pool, enjoying stunning mountain views and a quiet and tranquil location in the Tuscan countryside. It is surrounded by fields, vineyards and olive groves and is within easy walking distance (about 1 km) of the historic town of Barga, with its shops, bars, cafes, restaurants, cinema and theatre.
The cottage is also available to rent for weddings, parties, family reunions and other special occasions.
The accommodation consists of a large open-plan sitting room with a kitchen area, comprising hob, oven, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. There is a large dining area, ample storage and a double sofa-bed and TV. In addition there are one double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and a modern shower room. The cottage is simply, but comfortably furnished, providing everything you could need on holiday. Outside there is an outhouse with a second shower (very useful after a dip in the pool) and a washing machine.
The cottage opens onto a large terrace by the side of the 11 metre pool. From the terrace there are spectacular and uninterrupted views of the surrounding Apuan Alps. The large garden and pool are shared with the owners, whose home is on the same property. However, they are discreet and all holiday-makers are guaranteed privacy. The owners are Italian, but speak good English and will be more than willing to give any help and advice required.

Local activities in and around Barga, Tuscany
Barga is wonderful, medieval hilltop town with all the amenities those on holiday could want. It has a bustling medieval quarter and is the perfect place to relax and unwind. It is wonderfully and retains the intimate and friendly feel of a small Tuscan town.
In the summer visitors can enjoy the many local markets and festivals in the area. Local tourist attractions include the "Grotta del Vento", the "Pania della Croce". and the many surrounding hillside towns and villages.
Barga is also about 30 minutes from the marvellous medieval walled town of Lucca. Florence, Siena, Pisa and the towns of Central-South Tuscany are also within easy reach. For those who love the sea, the safe, sandy beaches of La Versilia (Viareggio, Lido di Camaiore, Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi) are only about 40 minutes away and for those who like walking, there are many marvellous walks in the surrounding mountains as well as, if you want to go a little further along the coast, the famous walk from Portovenere through the Cinque Terre.
Barga is a vibrant place after dark with its many bars and restaurants. For those seeking even more nightlife, the bars, restaurants, and world famous clubs and discotheques of La Versilia are at hand after a hard day on the beach.
About 3 kilometers from Barga is the world renowned holiday resort and complex "Il Ciocco" (often used as a winter training ground for the Italian National Football Team". Its many restaurants and amenities are open year round to non-residents.
"Cielo" and Barga are ideal for families and couples, looking for a relaxing holiday with stunning scenery wanting to experience the Italian way of life in a marvellous and unspoilt part of Tuscany.
For those wishing to explore further afield, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Pistoia, Pisa, Montecatini Terme, Arezzo, Lucca and the Isola d'Elba (ferry from Piombino) are all manageable day-trips.
