Gallt Yr Adar Fawr is approached by a winding track. The nearest property is 300 metres away. The nearest town is Llandovery, 3.5 miles away so a car is essential. The town has an interesting history which is well explained in its Heritage Museum. There is a fortnightly Farmers Market & several pubs and places to eat. A little further afield but well worth the drive is the Red Lion pub in Llangadog and Valans Restaurant in Llandybie, both serving excellent food in friendly, comfortable surroundings at reasonable prices.

Gallt Yr Adar Fawr is a spacious 5 bedroomed house, which sleeps up to 8. There is a large lounge, a roomy kitchen/dining room with an electric oven and hob and an oil fired Rayburn. A games room with a quarter size, slate bed snooker table, a covered, enclosed terrace with garden furniture, a hammock and a good size barbecue overlooking the lake and lawn.
The house nestles in the most south westerly corner of this quiet and peaceful valley and overlooks its own lake 25 paces from the door where visitors may like to do a spot of hobby fishing. The hills on either side of the valley are home to a wealth of wildlife. (Badgers, foxes, red kite, heron, wild duck, buzzards and many small birds).

Gallt Yr Adar Fawr is within a few miles of the beautiful Brecon Beacons. Visitors might like to visit Carreg Cennen Castle, Gelli Air Country Park, Aberglasney House and Gardens, the National Botanic Gardens, Dinefwr Park & Castle, the Dolau Cothi Gold Mine and the Red Kite feeding station at Llanddeusant.
For a perfect day trip, places to visit include the Dan yr Ogof Caves, the coast at Tenby, Laughane, Cardigan Bay and Pembrey Country Park.
