We are Dean & Lesley McMorran and we fell in love with Italy many years ago. We purchased Caserma Carina nearly three years ago and have since been restoring our half of this magnificent 19th century Italian country house. The unrestored part of the house contrasts wonderfully, adding that little bit of rustic Italy to our luxury apartments. Caserma Carina has been a labour of love and we welcome our guests to enjoy a private escape to sample the many wonderful aspects of this unspoilt and beautiful region, namely Marche.
The house contains many original features including beautiful beamed ceilings and brick arches and sits proud in the rolling countryside of Marche.
Guests can relax in total comfort in a tranquil setting, whilst still being only minutes away from local amenities.
Marche (translated as The Marches) lies on the eastern side of central Italy between the Apennines Mountains and the Adriatic Sea. It is bordered by the regions of Emilia Romagna to the north, Umbria to the west and Lazio and Abruzzo to the south. The region is an amazing combination of beautiful rolling countryside, mountain ranges, ancient hilltop villages, stunning coastline and beautiful cities. Marche offers the traveller a wealth of culture, art, crafts, excellent local cuisine and beautiful scenery and being fairly undiscovered you will rarely be faced with the crowds now associated with the tourist sites of Tuscany.

Local activities in and around Mogliano, Marche
Caserma Carina is ideally situated in the heart of Marche:
15 minute walk from the historic hilltop town of Mogliano, which has several restaurants and bars, a bank, supermarket and many other shops as well as an open air market every Tuesday.
There are many local restaurants within a 15 minute drive offering traditional Marche cuisine.
Only 40 minutes from the beaches of the Adriatic coast. Marche's coastline offers some stunning scenery, namely Monte Conero with its high cliffs (offering 18 walks) and small beaches tucked away in corners of natural beauty. Even closer for our guests is Porto San Giorgo, a pretty medieval fishing town with sandy beaches, established restaurants and a lovely marina. During July the locals hold the traditional Festa del Pesce (Fish Festival), where the fish is cooked in huge frying pans.
Only 40 minutes from the Sibillini Mountains where guests can enjoy skiing in the winter and walking in the summer. The Monti Sibillini National Park is a nature reserve covering an area of 60,000 hectares spread over the Sibillini mountain range. Wolves, bears and wild cats still roam this area of natural beauty which offers breath-taking walking holidays for all enthusiasts. Mountain lakes, waterfalls, deep gorges, woodlands and ancient monasteries are just some of the delights of this area. Organised walks and mule treks are available.
Only 25 minutes from the beautiful and historic city of Macerata which holds the second largest open air opera festival during July and August.
Less than an hour from the ancient city of Ascoli Piceno with it’s Romanesque architecture, medieval streets, noble patrician palaces, museums full of masterpieces of art and magnificent main square.
A moderate drive will also enable visits to some of Umbria’s attractions such as Assisi, Perugia and Spoleto.

Rental Notes: We operate a Saturday - Saturday letting. However, mid week bookings/shorter stays will be considered during low season dependent on availablility.
On the day of arrival access will be possible from 4.00 pm and guests should vacate their apartments by 10.00 am on the day of departure.
There is a weekly cleaning service (Saturdays) where fresh bed linen and towels will be provided.
Heating is charged for separately based on usage.
A security deposit of €200 will be required on arrival which will be refunded at the end of the holiday subject to damages.
