Le Mura is a 1600 rambling farmhouse villa. It is a superb vacation rental with pool in Tuscany. This holiday rental villa with pool nr Lucca above Bagni di Luuca, the spa town of Lucca, has been lovingly restored, preserving the original materials of stone walls, exposed chestnut beams and cotto floors. The rooms are traditionally decorated with a simple white wash except when an area of original fresco has been uncovered. This Tuscan villa farmhouse is set in its own large grounds amongst vineyards and olive groves above the celebrated spa of Bagni di Lucca.

The house has kept all its original character and the front door is reached by a small flight of stone steps. It opens directly onto the spacious elegantly furnished salotto with a wood burning stove. Next is the large traditional tuscan farmhouse kitchen with stone fireplace, hand painted traditional Lucchese tiles and antique marble work surface. Of course there are also all modern conveniences including a dishwasher (the washing machine is housed in the lavanderia below).
The massive master bedroom has antique furniture and a super Kingsize bateau lit which is placed in the centre of the room in front of the most amazing panorama. It shares a shower room with a very large twin bedroom.
The other wing of the house consists of one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom; the furniture is in the typical blue of the area. Another double/twin bedroom is at the end of the house next to a bathroom.
Upstairs there is another very large twin/double/treble bedroom, as well as the beds there is also a sofa. This is a much loved family house so the furniture is changed around from time to time.
This idyllic setting commands majestic views over the Serchio and Lima valleys and across 9 horizons of mountains with the Apuanian Alps in the distance. In the foreground, medieval villages nestle on the olive clad hillside. All the rooms enjoy this wonderful view. Summer dining can be enjoyed on the terrace just outside the house. The BBQ is next to the old pizza oven. The pool, heated by solar panels, is situated right next to the house up a couple of steps. This area can be closed off to make it safer for toddlers. It has the sun all day. However there are mature trees so shade can always be found, as well as sun umbrellas. Hammocks hang in the trees in the grounds for those who want a peaceful read of snooze in the shade. There is a boules pitch, tree swing and Wendy house. The organic fruit is for guests to pick.

The spa in Bagni di Lucca is now after many years having a rebirth, so our guests can enjoy spa treatments. The public pool is filled with water from the thermal springs. There is also a lovely friendly tennis club. Horse riding and trecking. Fishing in the torrent and swimming in splash pool for the brave as the water is cold. Wonderful walks in the local protected areas. Maps can be obtained from local shops. The wildlife is wonderful with owls in the garden and porcupines in the woods. You can see eagles circling high above the house. Also enjoy the stars.
Lucca is a perfect gem of a city and has wonderful summer concerts. Puccini festival in Torre di Largo is also very near. Lucca is fun to cycle around the walls and great for designer shopping. The coast is near and you can choose between family beaches, nature or designer resorts. For the daring there is a tree top adventure park.. The area is full of wonderful restaurants all using local ingredients.
Benabbio has two bar/restaurants and a summer club where you can enjoy real village life. There is dancing under the stars at the club every Saturday night.The village is very happy to welcome our summer guests. The local shop in Benabbio is very well stocked, most of the produce is sourced locally. There are also a Bar/Pizzeria and a gourmet restaurant.
The area has a wonderful choice of Restaurants at very reasonable prices.
The area has art, architecture, a natural park, the sea and also sport facilities.
Rental Notes: Rentals are usually Saturday to Saturday. However out of season we can be flexible and also offer long weekend rates.
Additional services on request: We can order provisions and a meal for your arrival. We can organise cooking demonstrations or just a meal to be cooked for you. We can also cater for special events such as birthdays, weddings etc. Babysitting. We are happy to offer help with museums and event planning particularly helpful for groups planning short trips.
