Taphouse Farm has a large detached stone and brick built house with a slate roof. The farmhouse is situated in the peaceful, picturesque Marshwood Vale; an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The farmhouse has 6 bedrooms, (2 family ensuites) and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 16 plus 2 cots. It has full central heating run off an oil-fired boiler, Rayburn and log fire in the lounge. All exterior doors and windows are double glazed.
At the front side of the house is a (12'x8') double glazed conservatory and sliding patio doors to the garden, ideal for that evening drink and barbecue. There is now a large stoned patio area with wooden picnic tables and bbq.The large games barn has a skittle alley, table tennis, 6x3'pool and snooker tables and darts board. There are plenty of car parking spaces near the house and games room.
The farm is run with neighbouring Cardsmill Farm, where guests can come and watch twice daily milking, see baby calves, beef animals, sheep and dogs. Lambing is usually between January and April. Wander to the 20 acre woods or beside the River Char and watch any wildlife.
I will be pleased to show you around and answer any questions; as we also grow wheat, barley and forage maize to feed the animals in winter. The farms are inspected annually by ABM/FABBL Beef & Lamb Scheme and National Dairy Farm Assurance Scheme for milk production. Contact us for prices and availability.

Ideal for touring Dorset, Devon and Somerset. Forde Abbey, the Swannery and village of Abbotsbury, West Bay, Lyme Regis, Charmouth Heritage Centre and beach, Axminster and Bridport market towns.
Ride on the tram at Seaton or the model railway at Beer a typical fishing village of the past. Visit the Donkey Sanctuary near Branscombe. Enjoy a farm tour to see milking, baby calves or lambs in Spring. Walk to the Shaves Cross Pub on quiet country lanes, watch the wildlife or just sit and relax in the garden with a good book and bird song for company.

Rental Notes: Duvets are provided plus 2 or 4 pillows, a blanket and bedspread/quilt per bed. Two cots, but no cot bedding.
Bed linen may be hired @ £6.00 per person per stay, all beds will be made prior to arrival. Towels, 1 bath and 1 hand @ £5.00 per person. All linen to be booked in advance please.
Mains water supply. Electric will be charged by a £1.00 slot meter. Electric fires, 2 smoke alarms fitted, fire blanket and extinguisher provided.
Friday - Friday or Monday - Monday changeover or by arrangement
Rayburn is oil-fired, it cooks, helps heat the water and keeps the kitchen warm. The central heating is controlled from the house. Logs are provided. Rayburn, C/H and logs included in price. VB Inspection 3 star March 2008
