Thimble Cottage is an idyllic one bedroom traditional stone cottage conveniently located in the heart of Youlgreave one of the prettiest and unspoilt villages of the Peak District. The cottage is available for weekly and short breaks.
Complimentary WiFi is available for use with your own laptop.
The cottage is ideal for a romantic break for two or being situated in the Bradford Dale and close to the Tissington Trail is an excellent starting point for many fine rambles and cycle rides. With log burner, stripped floors, fine quality soft cotton bedlinen, fluffy towels, feather duvet (synthetic available for allergy sufferers) and courtyard garden we think you are assured of a comfortable stay.
Thimble cottage is within easy walking distance of the three village pubs which all serve good home cooked food.

The cottage is cosy and comfortable and it’s the many little extra touches which make our guests return. It is ideal for a romantic break for two or a base for walking holidays.
The cottage is conveniently located within easy walking distance of the three village pubs (all of which serve very good home cooked food), newsagent, 2 butchers / grocerystore and is adjacent to the village post office.
We are also within easy driving distance of Haddon Hall (2 miles), Chatsworth (4 miles) and Bakewell, home of the world famous Bakewell pudding (3 miles).
Accommodation & Facilities
The cast iron log burner and the comfortable sofa makes the sitting room a lovely cosy place to relax. The kitchen is well equipped and the double bedroom has a solid pine double bed and quality “sleepeze” mattress, feather duvet and pillows (synthetic available for allergy sufferers) and exquisite fine quality soft cotton bedlinen. Fluffy towels, heating & lighting all included.
Courtyard garden with garden furniture and which catches the sun from midday onwards. Generous off street parking for one car per cottage.
Your well behaved pets are welcome - we just make a small additional charge for pets and babies of £25. We regret that we are not insured to take children, only babies in arms and also that smoking is not permitted inside the cottage.

Garden, Parking, Garden Furniture. The secluded rear courtyard is ideal for dining alfresco in the summer.
It is also ideal for your dog as it is fully walled.

Local activities in and around Bakewell, Heart of England
Many of our guests find our cottages so comfortable that they just and relax and enjoy a well earned break but the Peak District does offer numerous attractions and activities if you do want a more active holiday - there is something for everybody.
Thimble Cottage is conveniently located in the heart of the village and within easy walking distance of the 3 village pubs (all of which serve good home cooked food), newsagent, 2 butchers / general stores and the village Post Office.
Bakwell, home of the famous Bakewell pudding is just 3 miles away.
Haddon Hall and Chatsworth are both within a few minutes drive.
There are many fabulous walks from the doorstep and there are guide books in the cottage to help you choose.
The cable car at Matlock is just a few minutes drive away.
Horseriding is available in the next village.
The spectacular Blue John Caverns are within easy driving distance as is Alton Towers.
Thimble Cottage is located in the heart of the Peak District village of Youlgreave which is 3 and a half miles from Bakewell and about half an hours drive from Junction 28 of the M1.

Rental Notes: All rates are inclusive of towels, linen, heating, utilities and wireless broadband internet access.
The only additional charge that we make is for pets and babies which are £25.
We are open all year round and we offer short mid week and weekend breaks (minimum 3 nights) every month apart from August which is reserved for weekly lets only. The start date for short breaks is flexible.
A regular 3 night weekend break is £195 and a regular mid week 3 night break is £180.
3 nights over a bank holiday weekend is £245.00
Change over day is flexible for weekly breaks outside peak season when the change over day is Saturday.
We regret that we are not insured to take children, only babes in arms.
