La Pergola is our newly renovated luxuriously equipped, four bedroom barn conversion just minutes from the beach in a village location. Only 3 hours from St-Malo & 1 hour from the airports of Nantes & La Rochelle our gite makes a perfect getaway for those wanting a quick, easy trip to excellent beaches & sunshine.
Like our other two properties, La Pergola has all the modern comforts you would expect when renting a quality holiday home. All bedrooms are air conditioned & all master beds have luxury mattress toppers for maximum comfort - you will not disappointed with our facilities - projector TV with huge motorised screen, quality surround sound, full sky sports, movie & children’s packages, Ipod docking station, Jacuzzi baths, heated swimming pool and we even text you daily the updated weather report plus lots more to really make your holiday one to remember.
In the sitting room you have a Projector TV and huge motorised screen - excellent for watching either sports, 'the tweenies' or a good old fashion film. We also supply a huge video library for family entertainment with over 50 top titles, a play station with games, DVD's & lots of toys, games & dressing up clothes for the kids. You will not be disappointed to find so many new games and toys for the kids to enjoy - Happy children = Happy parents!
The open-plan kitchen/sitting room has been meticulously furnished & equipped. There is a large 5 burner range cooker (always easier when cooking for large numbers) & a large kitchen table, here you can enjoy freshly baked croissants! We have everything you would expect to find including dishwasher, washing machine, microwave & a huge stainless steel fridge freezer - (very important!). You will also find kitchen essentials like washing up liquid, dish clothes, bin bags, kitchen foil, cling film, kitchen towels & salt & pepper grinders at your disposal. A few less items to pack & always appreciated.
For the little ones - we supply a high chair, travel cot, changing mat, pushchair, plus essentials like a sterilizer & bottle warmer. We also supply a huge selection of children’s toys from dressing up clothes to train sets.
La Pergola has 4 bedrooms - 2 master bedrooms, 1 twin and 1 bunk bed room. All bedrooms are air conditioned. The ground floor accommodation has 1 master bedroom & the bunk bed room. It has been specifically designed in mind to also allow easy access for the elderly or for wheel chair users. We have ramps for easy access, 1 meter wide internal doors, a Jacuzzi bathroom & fully tiled shower room with WC. On the first floor you will find a 2nd master bedroom which has been beautifully furnished with antique furniture & a twin bedroom. For maximum comfort, all double beds have mattress toppers and the highest quality bed linen & bath towels are provided.

La Pergola is only a 2 minute stroll from the centre of Angles. It has a large street market on Wednesday and Sunday mornings - an excellent opportunity to sample much of the locally produced food, including cheese, meat, fish and wine.
Located so close to the village, you can either take a leisurely walk down in the morning to pick up your fresh baguette and croissants, or stroll down in the evenings to a choice of great restaurants. You don’t have to load all the kids in the car (plus all of the equipment that comes with having a family) to have a great night out!
In the summer months Angles organises special events in the square including fun days, evening entertainers, jazz and blues nights, firework displays & night markets. You can sit with the locals and enjoy 'moules & frites' listening to a band watching the kids dance to their hearts content.
The village has its own Office de Tourisme, as well as a post office, two banks, a hairdresser, a beauty salon, an aromatherapist, a pharmacy, five cafés/bars and four restaurants. There are also two supermarkets, two butchers, a fishmonger and a fruit & vegetable shop.

Indian forest adventure
Marked trails in the forest up to 20ft high give you up to 122 different challenges. You are suspended by safety harnesses and are able to climb, swing, dismount and even slide across the forest. Great area for toddlers too, with themed bouncy castles, ball park, rock climbing, inflatable park, trampolines, swings, slides, ropes and pony rides to name but a few! Excellent day out for the children and for adults and only 5 minutes away, Great fun and highly recommended.

The park has 60 hectares of leisure space for everyone to enjoy, with street theatre, exhibitions, relaxation areas, games, and more, to give you the perfect, fun-filled outing. Just one example of the wonderful activities on offer is the 3D space adventures where you will experience alongside the astronauts and cosmonauts the elating sensation of floating in mid-air 407 km above the Earth, the guaranteed thrills of an excursion in space and the daily challenges of life in orbit. Puy du Fou is where time stands still - take a journey through 2,000 years of history. You will see villages from different eras, gladiators still doing battle, Vikings launching attacks on fortified castles and jousting knights plus a 1900 market town and a 18th Century Village. In the summer, there are 28 evening/night shows with 300 fireworks per show, 2000 digitally-controlled projectors, 1500 computerised fountains, 4500 costumes and many more special effects. There are minstrels in the heart of the woods and master falconers in the meadows. This huge area covering 40 hectares will be an instant hit with children and adults alike.
The beach at La-Tranche-sur-Mer (10 minutes away) has a 6-hectare area of water for water sports. The "Cercle Nautique Tranchais" (CNT) offers sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and sand-sailing. The area is also superb for boating and surfing enthusiasts
The famous city of La Rochelle is just 45 minutes away. Explore the chic shops or watch the world go by from one of the many trendy bars or bistros. And after an exhausting morning's shopping, you can look forward to a leisurely lunch in one of the mouth-watering seafood restaurants which overlook the port.
You can enjoy two types of fishing - On the freshwater rives upstream from the lock gates at Moricq (5 mins away), you can try for pike, perch, carp, bream and other bleak. You will need a licence which can be purchased at our office du tourism.
Or you can fish in the saltwater reaches of the Lay, from the gates of Moricq to the mouth of the river which is subject to maritime regulations, so you can fish free of charge, for grey mullet, eels and plaice.
Golf
France is one of Europe's most popular golfing holiday destinations. It has over 25 of the Top 100 golf courses in Europe - and many golfers are now choosing to play in France rather than the traditional Spanish golf resorts. French golf courses are of an exceptionally high standard, are competitive and are well managed. We have 5 course within easy reach!
Rental Notes: Prices are based on up to 4 adults, 4 children sharing the property.
Prices are advertised in GBP, however, payments are taken in Euros on an exchange rate of 1.30%.
Credit Card payments are accepted, however a 2% surcharge applies with this method of payment. Alternatively payments can be made by international bank transfer.
Winter lets are welcome from Mid October through to Mid April each year at a price of 1300euros per month and are based on one family sharing. Bedding, electric, gas, water, personal taxes, sky packages or any fuel is not included within the price.
Luxury 100% cotton bed linen is supplied within the price, as well as bath towels and bathroom hand towels. We also offer large 100% cotton beach towels for hire (saves that bit of extra room in the car on the way home for the great bottles of wine!)
