Conveniently situated within easy walking distance of the local shops, and a wide range of local bars and restaurants offering a variety of international cuisine to suit all ages and tastes. Public transport links are close by. Calahonda is a coastal town ideally situated between Fuengirola and Marbella. There are many facilities and attractions close by which appeal to both adults and children: beaches & water sports, adventure parks & family centres, as well as an abundance of golf courses & sports centres, all easily reached by car or public transport.
This penthouse apartment in Calahonda, near Marbella, Costa del Sol, Spain, is situated within a small, select, securely gated community of apartments, and is situated right on the beach! Comfortably accommodating six people, the apartment boasts 3 double bedrooms (master bedroom with fantastic sea views & an ensuite with luxury "rainfall" shower), 2nd bathroom; large sunny south-facing lounge/diner with double patio doors, and a French door, leading out onto the huge terrace. The lounge is equipped with a flat-screened TV, Sky/satellite system, DVD/CD player & a safe.
The spacious & comfortable lounge has a Scandinavian sofa bed, dining table & matching coffee table, plus 6 leather upholstered dining chairs & two further sofa's. Roman Blinds are fitted in the lounge & master bedroom. The fully equipped open plan kitchen has everything you need and boasts a fridge/freezer, oven and ceramic hob, washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher and microwave.
There is a very large, landscaped terrace, with a raised decked solarium area ideal for private sunbathing, an outside dining area with superb views over the Med, and a well stocked & colourful garden/patio area which is ideal in which to relax with a cool drink & a good book. Toldos/sunshades are fitted throughout the terrace, offering shaded seating/dining areas. An automatic irrigation system has been installed. There are 6 sun loungers, 3-piece outdoor suite & coffee table, solid wood dining table & chairs, plus other outdoor furniture.
Easy public transport links are close by for Malaga (30 minutes), Marbella (15 minutes), and beyond. Ideally situated for golfers, with some excellent golf courses within 15 minutes' drive, and for families, where children can play in a safe & secure environment with direct (securely gated) access directly onto the beach. Also an idyllic & romantic setting just for two!

As the apartment entrance is reached via a flight of steps it is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs unless the user can make these steps without it. Smoking not permitted inside the apartment.
Local activities in and around Calahonda, Costa del Sol - Malaga
The Costa del Sol has been a popular holiday destination for many years, boasting over 320 days of sunshine each year. The area's mild climate makes it possible to enjoy the long stretches of sandy beaches and partake in a wide variety of outdoor activities, all year round.
Close by are the world renowned resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus, with their famous nightlife, designer shops and impressive harbours. Other popular local destinations include Mijas and Ronda, which are traditional white Spanish towns in the surrounding mountainside. The lovely harbour and beach at Cabopino is very close by & well worth a visit.
To the east is Fuengirola - with its superb beach, water park, zoo, and the Myramar shopping mall - and Benalmadena, with its impressive marina, sea-life centre, and the Tivoli World theme park.
Further afield is Gibraltar (about an hours' drive), where you can buy duty-free goods. Worth the drive (about 1.5 hours) is the historic Alhambra Palace in the lovely town of Granada. Some excellent skiing is available in the Sierra Nevada resort (near Granada) in the winter (less than 2 hours' drive).
The area is also well known as the "costa del golf" and, for golfers, there is an abundance of courses and facilities nearby to choose from. Within a 5 minute drive of the apartment is Miraflores Golf Club; a fine 18-hole course with views of the mountains & the Med. Many other superb courses are within around 15 - 20 minutes' drive away, with championship courses such as Valderrama within easy driving distance. Extensive sea sports & activities are also available locally, including water skiing, and dolphin watching.
You must check out Mijas Race Course: an excellent Saturday night out during the summer months, where you can watch the racing, have a bet on the Tote, and dine under the stars whilst waiting to collect your winnings! Just 10 minutes' drive.
Nearest golf course to the accommodation:
Miraflores Golf Club - a friendly yet challenging course, with an excellent restaurant, tapas bar (both open all day - to non-golfers too), plus a driving range and academy.
A very popular zoo - without cages, featuring a simulated rain forest housing hundreds of birds and animals. This website is currently in Spanish only.
Visit this family friendly water park, which is situated in Fuengirola, just a 10 minute drive from the apartment. Open May through to September. The park offers everything for a full day of sun and exciting water adventures.
Experience a fantastic family day out at the Tivoli World Theme Park - designed for adults as well as children, with beautiful gardens, bars, and restaurants - over 40 rides and shows to try! The largest amusement park in Spain. Located in Benalmadena, only a 25 minute drive from the holiday accommodation. Open all year round.
