Enjoying stunning mountain views, this newly built cottage is situated only a short walk through the private orange grove to the banks of the river Ebro. Although this is a peacful, rural location it is only a 5 minute drive to the nearest town and village and only 20 minutes to the fabulous beaches of the Costa Brava.
This is an ideal spot for fishing, bird-watching, hiking, mountain-biking, or for just relaxing by the swimming pool. A b-b-q area and small children's play area make this a perfect base from which to enjoy this wonderful region of Spain.
Casa Ribera is a single-storey, 2 bedroom detached property situated next to the owner's house but completely private and self-contained. Newly built, this delightful property has been designed to provide you with everything you need for your self-catering holiday.
The house is located in a large plot of land which has orange, lemon, fig, peach and olive trees leading directly to the banks of the river Ebro, famous for its fishing. The facilities include a swimming pool, (May to September), a children's play area, an outdoor b-b-q area as well as a private b-b-q on the terrace and shaded parking. It has its own private, covered terrace and small lawn area.
Inside, the property has 2 bedrooms offering either single or double beds with a further sofa bed in the lounge, providing sleeping for up to 6 people. It has a fully equipped kitchen with washing maching, microwave, oven, hob and fridge/freezer. Sky TV, a DVD player and CD/radio player are also provided and is furnished and decorated to a high standard. The property is suitable for wheelchair access, except for shower
A wide range of interests are catered for locally, including mountain biking, horse-riding, fishing, hiking and bird-watching. All these activities, on offer locally, can be organised activities, or, if you prefer, you can simply do your own thing!
The wide variety of bars and restaurants, both in the nearby town of Tortosa and those on the nearby coast and surrounding villages will delight the palate of all food and wine lovers.
This region is rich in history and culture and provides a wealth of sight-seeing opportunities, from the breath-taking Delta, with its flamingos and rice harvests to spectacular mountain castles.
Lazy beach holidays are also possible with only a 20 minute drive to the beautiful beaches and resorts of the Costa Brava/Daurada. The bustling resort of Salou and thrilling Port Aventura are only a 40 minute, easy drive from here.

2 Twin Bedrooms. Beds can be arranged as doubles or 2 singles. Sofa bed in the lounge enables cottage to sleep up to 6. A baby/toddler pack (cot, highchair, potty and crockery) is available for a small extra charge.

1 Shower. Wheelchair access is not possible in the bathroom, so suitable for partial mobility only.

Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Washing Machine, Iron. Kitchen is fully equipped, including electric kettle, coffe maker, microwave and toaster. There is a washing machine, iron and ironing board, should you miss the comforts of home!

Local activities in and around Tortosa, Costa Dorada/Tarragona
Fishing is available on the river Ebro, either from boats, organised by a local company or from the banks, organised or not. Let us know if you would like us to arrange this for you. Catfish, carp, pike, perch and black bass are found in abundance in the river.
There is a huge variety of birds to be seen in the Delta, National Parks and our own garden! We even have a pair of Bonelli's eagles nesting nearby.
There is a wide variety of sporting and cultural activities available in the region and there is always a fiesta to go to.
There are many signposted trails available for biking, hiking and horse-riding, including the Via Verde which runs very close by. Cycle hire is available close by and we can arrange pick-up and transport to the various trails if desired.
Horse riding is available in various locations.
The bustling resort of Salou and the nearby themepark of Port Aventura are only a 40 minute drive away, as is the historic, buzzing town of Tarragona. Barcelona can be reached by a 1 1/2 hour train ride from Tortosa, short enough to be an enjoyable day trip.
This whole area is surrounded by Roman and Moorish history and buildings and a very short drive will take you up into spectacular mountains with their breathtaking views and typically Spanish villages.
If all this is too much, there are unspoilt and beautifully sandy beaches for relaxing on.

Reus airport is the nearest airport, just an hour's drive away, and is served by a number of budget airlines from a variety of airports in the UK. However, Barcelona airport is also within easy reach, taking about 1 3/4 hours.
