Chateau de Bambecq - Groups and Themed Breaks in Chateau
Chateau/Castle with 9 Bedrooms, Sleeps 16, Garden
The Chateau de Bambecq, once said to be 'The most beautiful small Chateau in Northern France' is set in fifteen acres of park and woodland, in a semi-rural location and is ideally suited to those groups who appreciate and respect the genteel surroundings. Rent the whole Chateau (priced by how many in group, min. 10), come for B&B, or take a long weekend break.
Or why not make up a party and book one of our themed weekends. Whether in the Château or Farmhouse (situated within the Château’s magical grounds), we offer you a range of options.
The approach is completely modular (see below). Some options we can do at short notice (subject to availability), others need more time to plan. Tell us which ones interest you and we will fill in the details. For budgeting, work on a rate of around £75 per couple per night, based on B&B. We will quote for any theming costs. We can also provide excellent evening meals for your party at extra cost - let us know your requirements.
Here’s how:-
1. Choose your group size (maximum sixteen people, 22 if Farmhouse also used)
2. Select your catering options
3. Elect to run your event yourselves (we can give you lots of tips) or ask us to organise it.
4. Choose a theme:
• Brocantes Weekend. 30-40 street sales each weekend/bank holiday, selling everything from bric-a-brac to genuine antiques. Seven-month season. A bargain hunter’s paradise!
• Murder Mystery Weekend. The Chateau offers a perfect setting to dress up, step back into a more elegant age and become a romantic (or dastardly!) historical character for a few fun-filled hours.
• The Epicurean Experience. Dine here at the Château (we can cater or arrange your own Cordon Bleu chef), sample some excellent local restaurants, enjoy wine tastings in local ‘caves’ and restock the wine cellar!
• Musical Weekends. Given notice, we have access to chamber orchestras, madrigal groups, singing trainers, classical music and pianists.
• Cycling Break. Good flat roads, many back lanes and long canal tow paths offer hundreds of kilometres of easy cycling. Mountain biking trails nearby for the more adventurous!
• The Château Garden Party. Anniversary celebrations, reunions, club gatherings – or that stylish party you keep meaning to give. Whatever the reason, host your friends for a memorable weekend. We can provide one or more large waterproof marquees on the lawns, making your occasion fully weatherproof.
• The ‘Do Nothing’ Break. Disconnect totally from the madness of modern life for a few days of blissful relaxation and pampering. If all you want to do is sit and read, or sleep and eat – that’s fine! A Professional Aromatherapy Service is also available - a wonderful antidote to months of stress.
• The ‘Girls Break’. Ladies, leave the men at home and get together for some French shopping bargains, chic restaurants - and tell all those risque jokes the men think you don’t know!

During six months of the year we can build you a themed weekend around the chance to poor over, and perhaps even buy, a great variety of wonderful old French artifacts. You could well make a profit! Bring two groups and we shall organise 'Bargain Hunt' just for you! (I may even put on a loudly striped suit and a fake tan.....)
Equestrian Facilities - stables and manege (sand school) for the equestrian tourist. You can bring your own horse(s) and use our facilities, or rent horses locally.
Art and Photographic - the area is extremely photogenic, and an artist's paradise. Art courses are run at the Château from time to time
Choral Club - the Château has choral workshops and other musical activities on a regular basis. Pleasae ask us!
Some of our activities are still in development. However, please ask about those that interest you - you may just be the catalyst we need to get another service up and running!
