Located in one of the oldest streets in the delightful medieval Cinque Port town of Sandwich, Primrose Cottage - a charming early 17th Century building, at some time a shop and latterly a tea-shop, before being renovated and refurbished to provide a charming, character holiday home with much character.
Timed parking is available in the nearby Market Square and the Quay - only a short walk away from the property with on-street parking available overnight
Entrance directly into the cosy carpeted lounge - comfortable good quality sofa, two leather wing-back armchairs, colour TV/DVD, radio/CD player, pine occasional tables and dressers with wall lights, standard lamps and a huge inglenook fireplace with woodburner ( 1st basket of logs provided) with blinds and heavy curtains at the window to provide complete privacy. Stripped pine panelling and door with window allowing light through from the kitchen complete this delightful room.
Step up into the kitchen with ivory coloured wall and floor cupboards, cream wall/floor tiles, old pine table & chairs, gas hob, electric oven and grill, fridge with freezer compartment , microwave and door leading out to the enclosed courtyard patio area. Enjoy complete privacy and sunshine in this compact seating area with wall climbing plants and pots, garden table & chairs plus barbecue - the automatic washing machine and tumble dryer are kept in a outhouse here.
From the kitchen, a door conceals the curving carpeted stairs which lead to the first floor. The very pretty double bedroom is delightfully presented and furnished with wrought iron double bed, old pine wall cupboard, bedside tables with lamps, chest of drawers with pine swing mirror, colour TV/video, cloaks/clothes stand and decorative fireplace - there is room for the travel cot here if required. Off the same landing is the compact family bathroom - a bath with handheld shower, WC and washbasin in a vanity unit - with original beams - please note there is low headroom over the bath.
The second stairs (VERY steep - not suitable for toddlers, children under 11 years or elderly/infirm) leads up to the charming attic bedroom which has lovely wooden floorboards, original beams, sloping ceilings, twin beds with cream wrought iron bedsteads, bedside table with lamp, clothes hanging and shelving plus a low level window overlooking the street - this room is best suited to older children or teenagers.

The Quay and the adjacent Barbican Gate - the entrance to the town, is a delightful area - enjoy watching the boats moored on the River Stour - or cycle along the marked paths - as far as the beach. There is a wealth of historical sites and places of interest to visit in Sandwich and many beautiful old buildings and churches to enjoy.
