In the grounds of Glenfarquhar Lodge, this former bakehouse has been tastefully converted into a unique two bedroomed character property. The sandstone cottage is detached and is situated some 60 yards from the main house. The property was converted in 2007 to a very high standard, and has been equiped to a very high level.
This is the ideal setting for families and couples alike. The generous grounds offer large lawned areas in addition to private spacious nooks. The cottage enjoys close ample parking, and there are numerous private outside seating areas with a barbecue available.
This property sleeps up to 5 people comfortably, if you require accommodation for more than 5, please see SH13818 (East Wing) which is 60 yards away. A cot and highchair etc. are available on request.
The cottage is light and airy and the décor is warm and inviting all the quality fittings (oak) new in 2007.
This is a non-smoking property, and I am sorry but we are not able to accept dogs.
A perfect property for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle, but equally a good base for exploring North East Scotland, with its castles, whisky distilleries and lovely nearby coastline, to name but a few of its attractions.

Living accomodation:- Double aspect spacious Living room/dining room, with 2 sofas - 1 of which is a sofa bed -, TV, DVD, freeview (small library) CD/Radio, Oak flooring with persian rug. Dining table and chairs for up to 6 people. Small library, games and tourist information and maps provided. Steps down to kitchen.
Bedrooms:- Both rooms are double aspect. One room has a king size bed with a single bed also, and one double room. Curtains in both rooms are fitted with blackout linings in order that you have a great nights sleep. Both bedrooms are well appointed and all linens and great towels are provided. The bedrooms are at opposite ends of the cottage, so great for privacy.
Kitchen:- Well appointed with ceramic hob and fan oven, extractor, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine/tumble dryer. A starter supply of tea, coffee and sugar will await you. All cleaning materials are also supplied.
Bathroom:- A very good quality newly fitted suite, Bath, W.C. and basin, with shower over.
We have a cot, travel cot/playpen and high chair which are available - Please note that only a limited amount of cot linen is provided - including fitted sheet -as parents prefer to bring their own.
The grounds are extensive, and guests may make full use of them. There are large expanses of lawn, we have provided some lawn games to help you take advantage of them, boule, croquet, and badminton etc. and a great variety of trees, shrubs and flowers. Garden furniture and a large gas barbecue are supplied for the use of guests.

May not be suitable for wheelchair users and the more infirm elderly. All accomodation is one one floor except for the kitchen and one bedroom which are down 5 steps from the rest of the property.

Within the extensive grounds you can enjoy badminton, cricket (soft ball), croquet and boules, as well as soft frisbees, are provided on site. Please feel free to bring along any bicycles that you may wish to use.
Good golf links course at Stonehaven approx 10 miles.
Drumtochty highland games (June) - 2 miles. Golf course (12 hole) - 2 miles away. Childrens play area, with jungle gym etc - 2 miles. Tennis courts and Bowling green - 2 miles away.
Stonehaven harbour 10 miles. The fireballs festival on New Years eve should not be missed.
Dunnotar Castle (Braveheart was filmed here) 12 miles. Glamis Castle (Queen mothers childhood home) 40 miles approx. House of Dun (by architect Robert Adam). Brechin Castle Centre - Ideal for children, 20 miles. St.Cyrus nature reserve and award winning beach (20 miles). Grassic Gibbon Centre - Arbuthnot. Whisky trail. Heritage Trail. Castle Trail. Montrose wild life centre for birdwatching, or see the buzzards close to the house (in season).

We are approx. 10 miles from Stonehaven, and 25 miles from Aberdeen.
We are a couple of miles from Drumtochty castle, and about 7 miles from Laurencekirk.
