This really is very special – the ultimate getaway for eight plus people in 4x4s. A unique experience of awesome beauty and spirituality in a valley of red deer and eagles, combined with luxury in a most exclusive location. One hour's drive due west of Inverness followed by 30 minutes down a track into the mountains, alone, sits this remote Victorian hunting lodge, with its own renewable energy electricity supply, amid dramatic scenery in an expansive glacial valley.
The Lodge, originally built around 1870 as a hunting lodge for deer stalkers before the trip into Glenuaig could be done in a day in a 4x4, has been renovated in period style. It comprises 4 twin/double bedrooms, bathroom, shower-room, drawing room, second sitting room, dining room, WC, super kitchen with dishwasher etc. drying room, TV, DVD, CD and fabulous views in all directions. Cot available and a dog may come too by prior arrangement. The house is heated by its own renewable micro hydro electricity scheme which is backed up by a diesel generator, LPG (gas) cooking and heating and log burning stoves.
Glenuaig Lodge is surrounded by Munros and Corbetts for the hill walkers, a six mile gentle valley for the less energetic, wildlife for the naturalists, and there is a Site of Special Scientific Interest to the South. The drive or gentle walk in has fabulous views across the Torridon Mountains. The Estate is about forty minutes from the West Coast and in an ideal central position for exploring the Highlands and tourist spots to all four sides. We can also arrange deer stalking, Salmon and trout fishing or clay pigeon shooting all on the estate and other shooting nearby; information and prices supplied. There are hotels and pubs within eight to fifteen miles and the village of Lochcarron, about 15 miles to the west, will meet most your shopping needs. Dingwall will supply the rest. Flights and trains to Inverness and 4x4s may be hired at Inverness (discount ref. available).

"What can I say ? It was a fantastic weekend in a truly stunning location . Walking, eating and watching DVDs(good selection by the way )in front of the fire was the perfect break and enjoyed by young and not so young ! The Lodge has tremedous character and we all felt at home very quickly. The drive up to Glenuaig is an adventure in itself and the deer turned out in force to welcome us. " - Name supplied.
"As you would expect from Scotland in January the weather threw everything at us ...snow,sleet,rain,wind ....but that really added to the experience. Watching the weather change , from inside the very cosy kitchen ,was fascinating. And on Sunday a climb to one of the snow covered summits was rewarded with blue sky and brlliant sunshine. Breathtaking." - Name Supplied
"The Lodge is extremely well equipped and has been really nicely refurbished without losing it's original charm. And appearances are deceptive. It looks small and compact from the outside but inside it opens up into very spacious and comfortable accomodation. A real Tardis ! We will be back ! " - Name supplied.
"WE HAD A LOVELY TIME.… had afternoon tea and cake whilst watching a pair of Golden Eagles! The other days were spent walking. Our hobby is nature photography and the stunning surroundings gave us plenty of scope to work. We dined every evening in the big kitchen and then sat by the wood burning stove in the lounge…As regards the house, we only used half of the rooms, but it is lovely and very cosy." - Name supplied.
"It was breath taking. The dogs loved it racing up the mountains....The walks were fantastic ... The pictures you sent really don't do it justice.... a little piece of heaven.....Would definitely like to come again" - Name supplied.
"It was a truly beautiful and magical place.
It is hard to believe that such gems still exist." - Names supplied.
