Stroll through the winding streets lined with honey coloured stone houses, visit the shops & restaurants, art galleries & summer craft market. Relax by the river in the dappled shade of a tree or go with the flow & hire a canoe.....it is all here for you to do in Beynac!!!!

'Chez Odile' is a brand new for 2008, private, one bedroom apartment, within a beautiful honey coloured stone house which was formally the Beynac village Forge. You have your own seperate entrance to the apartment with a sunny terrace & garden for your own use.
The main living room, bedroom & the dining & kitchen area all have lovely old chestnut floors & exposed beams throughout. Every window in the apartment has far reaching views across the Dordogne river to the 4 Chateaux on the other side........even the shower room!!
The bedroom has a Kingsize bed (160cm) with a beautiful vaulted beamed ceiling & a ceiling fan.
The bedroom, shower room & kitchen linens are provided & the bed will be made for your arrival. You don't need to think about a thing, just unpack your bags & then chill on the terrace with a complementary bottle of wine to welcome you.
From the kitchen are the stairs leading down to the south facing terrace, with table & chairs for sunny al fresco breakfasts & shaded evening meals.
The south facing garden & terrace overlook the Dordogne river & 4 Chateaux. Here you can sit under a banana tree & dream, read or sip a glass of local wine. A perfect place to watch the world pass you by on the river below.
A short walk along the tranquil riverside footpath brings you to a beach & bathing area. It is possible to swim in the safe Dordogne river, with it's gentle current & shallow wading areas. Why not relax by the river in the sunshine, it's absolutely perfect ...........a childhood revisited!!!!!
In Beynac everything is a short walk away. You can hire bikes, canoes & even Hot Air Balloons, visit a museum or the famous Chateau de Beynac, stroll along the river or to the antique shops & art galleries, you can even eat in one of the many restaurants & bistros all within a 5 minute walk of your apartment.

Central Heating, House Linen, Towels Provided. Available for shorter 3 night stays for 50 euros per night over winter months (mid Nov-end Feb) or longer lets. Please enquire for further details. There is heating in the apartment.

Satellite TV. There is British Satelite TV in the living room, with over 20 channels plus many radio stations.
Outside:
Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. There are beautiful views from the terrace of the Dordogne river. This really is an exceptional location.
There is a free car parking permit for the village car parks, just a short walk away.

Chez Odile is set on the banks of the gently flowing Dordogne river overlooking 4 chateaux and one of the historic sites of the Hundred Years War (1337-1453) between England and France. The stunningly romantic village of Beynac, which rises dramatically from the valley floor and which was once the home of Richard the Lionheart, will enchant and captivate you at every turn, from its narrow medieval streets lined with soft honey coloured stone houses, shops, art galleries and restaurants to its magnificent Chateau, perched high on top the cliff, which has majestically watched over the Dordogne valley since 1150. You may already be familiar with Beynac and the surrounding area from watching such films as 'Chocolat', 'Joan of Arc', 'The Musketeer' and 'Timeline'.
This is one of the loveliest stretches of the Dordogne river and a 'not to be missed' stop for any traveller. The central Perigord Noir location allows you to visit the nearby attractions very easily, whether it be the world famous prehistoric cave paintings at Lascaux, or the World Heritage Classified Vezere Valley with its many Stone Age relics and caves dating from 20,000 years ago. Maybe, you might like to visit the vineyards of Bergerac and St.Emilion, or the perfectly preserved medieval town of Sarlat and some of the many fortified castles and Bastide towns which are all within a short drive from Beynac. If you wish to go Hot Air Ballooning as the sun rises over the surrounding castles that can be arranged too. It is all here for you to do whether its drifting down the river in a canoe or eating at a Michelin starred restaurant, we will try our best to arrange it for you - even the sunshine.
Beynac is 55 minutes from Bergerac airport. Bordeaux, Limoges & Toulouse are 2 hours drive away. If driving from Paris take exit 55 from the A20 motorway & follow signs to Sarlat & then Beynac.
