If you are looking to spend a rural holiday in Ireland this wonderful stone cottage/house could be just what you are looking for. Situated at the end of a quiet country lane in a beautiful rural setting yet only 4 miles from Dundalk town with all its bars, restaurants, shopping facilities and evening entertainment. The cottage is decorated and furnished to the highest standard and has fabulous mountain views from the upstairs gallery area and bedrooms.
It is worth taking a note that a welcome pack providing the essentials is provided containing home-made cake, cereal, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, bread, butter - cooking oils, salt, pepper, kitchen foil, etc.
The cottage is equidistant between Dublin and Belfast, both cities only 1 hr by bus or train with extremely good bus services particularly to Dublin.
Dorian cottage offers something a little different. Combining old with new the house is beautifully furnished and decorated throughout with wooden sash style windows, old style cast iron radiators and a wonderful old roll top bath just some of the features.
There is something here for everyone - golf, fishing, walking, horseriding and even an adventure centre are all within easy reach or maybe you would prefer visiting some of our heritige sites - Mellifont Abbey. Monasterboice and Newgrange are, again, all only a short distance by car.
County Louth is Ireland's smallest county and known as the 'wee county' or the 'land of legends'. Because the county is so small (only 317 square miles) you are never far away from our bordering counties: Meath, Monaghan and Cavan in the South and Counties Armagh and Down in the North. Dorian Cottage is therefore the perfect base to explore both the north and the south.
