Villa Olga
Astratigos has a magic all of its own, it is one of 5 villages on the Rodopos peninsula only 5kms from the town of Kolimbari. Our accommodation is in three villas, Olga, Theodoros and Giorgios, all of which have been lovingly and beautifully restored or built by their local owner. Villa Olga is a new, two storey, stone villa that has been built and which is furnished in a traditional style to complement the other two villas.
Villa Olga can sleep up to 7 in 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom is a double on the first floor with doors opening on to a spacious balcony offering fantastic sea views across to Chania. There are two twins, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor, each with their own balcony or terrace. A Cretan bed (with wooden slats) in the lounge area is suitable for a child. The well equipped kitchen includes a full cooker with oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, microwave and a washing machine. This villa has a TV and CD player.
Villa Olga has 2 bathrooms, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. The villa shares a pool, garden and bar b q with Villa Theodoros.

Local activities in and around Kolimbari, Crete
The countryside in this part of Crete is a walkers and bird watchers paradise; a visit in the spring is a must if you want to see the flowers in bloom. Astratigos nestles between Afrata and Rodopos, about 30kms west of Chania. Whilst there are no tavernas or shops in Astratigos, the owner offers his guests the opportunity to order home cooked food, from Monday to Thursday and to have this delivered straight to your villa. There are four tavernas in Afrata and three in Rodopos, each about 15 to 20 minutes walk from our accommodation.
The nearest beach is at Afrata where you will find a delightful little cove with a pebble beach and crystal clear water perfect for swimming and snorkelling. There is a small cantina on the beach serving good food and cold drinks. There are plenty of other beaches to be explored only a short drive away. In Kolimbari there is a harbour and the makings of a small marina, a long beach, tourist shops, an “Inka” supermarket, a bank, a post office and some very good tavernas. The 16th century monastery of Gonias is on the outskirts of Kolimbari.

Rental Notes: A discount of 15% is offered to a single couple booking this villa for May, September and October dates. The normal change-over day is Tuesday but this is flexible so please ask us. Charter flights from the UK to Chania airport are on Tuesdays (50 minutes drive). Flights to Heraklion (2 1/2 hours drive) are available most days of the week either on a charter flight or scheduled with BA/Easyjet who fly from Gatwick and Manchester and Jet 2 who fly from Leeds/Bradford airport. Maid service is provided twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.
