Located in a superb private plot above the village of Kokkino Chorio, Baytree Villa has far reaching views over the village to the White Mountains and across Souda Bay to the Akrotiri peninsula. The luxuriously appointed villa is a spacious 120m2 on a plot of just over half an acre. The beautiful, tiled, infinity swimming pool is surrounded by sun bathing terraces which all have glorious views across the bay. The Apokoronas region to the east of Chania is where most of our holiday villas are situated, close to the sandy beaches at Almirida, Kalives and Georgioupolis.

Baytree Villa is a new stone villa built to a traditional style but open plan and modern in its interior layout with luxury furnishings, fittings and equipment. In keeping with its luxury status, the villa is fully air-conditioned. The ground floor consists of a fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge which is all open plan. Stone features internally include an impressive arch separating the kitchen and sitting areas and a fireplace which is the focal point of the lounge area. Wooden french doors open up off the lounge to two balconies with views.
The kitchen is fully equipped to a high standard with stainless steel appliances including fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Completing the ground floor accommodation is one of the twin bedrooms and a ground floor wc.
On the first floor there is another twin bedroom, the stylishly furnished master bedroom and a family bathroom with a full bath and separate shower cubicle. The bedrooms all have plenty of storage with wardrobes, chests of drawers, bedside cabinets etc. All bedrooms have access to terraces with the ground floor bedroom having its own private terrace overlooking the pool area. The first floor terrace runs the whole length of the villa and offers the most amazing views. The master bedroom has direct access to this terrace and the first floor twin room has easy access to it via the landing. There are 2 x fold up beds available so that the villa can sleep up to 8 - please note there is an additional charge of £50 per week per fold up bed in use.

Local activities in and around Almirida, Crete
The large bay that makes up the seaside resorts of Almirida and Kalives has many separate, safe, sandy beaches, most with full facilities. Almirida is a thriving seaside resort with a windsurfing school and tavernas and bars lining the sea front. There are a couple of mini-markets, a bakery, patisserie, a wine shop and a newsagents. Mountain bikes can be hired and there is also a small taxi rank. The Almirida Beach Hotel is open to non residents and has internet facilities as well as a 10 pin bowling lane. There is a limited bus service to Kalives and Chania. Kalives is a working village as well as being a tourist destination so in addition to the beaches, tavernas, bars and tourist shops you will find many local shops as well as a fairly big supermarket of the INKA chain. Banking, post office, pharmacy and petrol station facilities are available in Kalives. There is a bus service to Chania.
Kokkino Chorio - is famous for its part in the filming of Zorba The Greek. There's a fine traditional taverna in the village square and a well stocked mini market. The village boasts some of the most stunning views out to sea and has deservedly become a desirable location both for permanent residence and as a holiday destination. There is a glass blowing factory in the village with a shop and a café.
Plaka – between Almirida and Kokkino Chorio, has everything you need, a petrol station, well stocked mini markets, tavernas and a couple of bars that are popular with locals and tourists alike.
There are many marked walks in this lush area. Extending about 10 kms or so inland it is rich in olive and citrus groves, pasture lands and tiny hamlets rarely visited by tourists. In the spring-time, the fields, groves and tracks abound in an endless variety of flora including many species which are endemic to Crete. Keen birdwatchers will find a large number of local as well as migratory birds to see, ranging from tiny warblers to large buzzards and even the odd kite.

We ask for a low deposit of 10% with the balance due 6 weeks prior to the start of the rental.
Prices are for the villa for up to 6 persons + a cot. There are discounts of 15% for a single couple and 10% for parties of 3 wishing to book this villa except for any July and August dates.
The normal change-over day is Tuesday but this is flexible so please ask us. Charter flights from the UK to Chania airport are on Tuesdays (45 minutes drive). Flights to Heraklion (1 1/2 to 2 hours drive) are available most days of the week either on a charter flight or scheduled with GB airways/Easyjet who fly from Gatwick and Manchester and with Jet 2 from Leeds/Bradford airport.
Maid service and linen change is provided twice a week.
