The Coachman is a delightful recently restored 400 year old double fronted, three storey Cornish cottage (Awarded a Four Star Rating by Visit Britain Self Catering). The Coachman is an ideal cottage for a large family or two families to share a memorable holiday together in Looe. Weekend offpeak breaks are also available, ideal for those special family occasions where you can all comfortably stay together in a wonderful setting. Set in the heart of East Looe and only a few paces from the golden sandy beach and harbour. It retains a wealth of character and traditional features including original exposed beams, log burning fireplace, traditional wooden, tiled and slate floors, whilst offering high standards of modern comforts. Looe's award winning restaurants and traditional pubs are all within a short stroll of the cottage.
On entering The Coachman you are welcomed by a large open plan ground floor. To your left is the comfortable dining area with feature brick fireplace, exposed beams and polished wooden floor. A huge dining table with seating for 10 people provides a very sociable place for family feasts. A hi-fi is in the dining area with a collection of CD's for your use. There is also a bookcase containing books, videos and board games for further entertainment.
Next to the dining area is a fully fitted & well equipped kitchen with slate floor, modern units & plenty of preparation space. Stainless steel pans hanging from the beams and stainless accessories give a high quality feel to the kitchen. There is a stable door off the kitchen that opens onto the rear of the cottage.
Also on the ground floor is the very comfortable lounge area with exposed beams, polished wooden flooring and feature log burning stove with slate hearth. There are two large comfy sofas and a cane furniture set. The wide screen TV has Sky, DVD and video player. French doors open to the rear of the cottage to really take in that sea air.
Up the stairs on the first floor are two twin bedrooms, one of which has a TV and Nintendo games console with 9 games. Both bedrooms have ample wardrobe and drawer space. Also on this floor is a bunk bedroom with single wardrobe containing various toys. This floor has a luxury shower room with coordinating white suite, shower, heated towel rail and vanity unit.
The second floor has two luxury bedrooms. The first bedroom which is dual aspect has a stunning vaulted ceiling, king sized sleigh bed, feature exposed beams, decorative fireplace, dressing table and wardrobe. The other spacious bedroom has a feature metal-framed double bed, double wardrobe, chair and chest of drawers.
The luxury bathroom on this floor contains a coordinated white suite with roll top bath, separate shower, heated towel rail, tiled floor and exposed beams.

Garden Furniture. The Cottage opens out front and rear onto Looe's pedestrian walkways. There is a bench outside the french windows to sit at and watch the world go by with a glass of wine!

For your safety the cottage is fully electrically tested annually and a Corgi Gas safety check is made annually. Additionally the is a CO2 detector located on the boiler for your peace of mind.
Local activities in and around Looe, South West
Looe is a vibrant, historic fishing port where one can choose from a host of activities including safe bathing from the golden sandy beach, rock pooling and whiling away the hours crabbing off the quayside and watching the local fishermen unloading the days catch. Many other watersports such as parascending, water skiing and surfing are available nearby.
The coastline in this region is beautiful and is accessible by the scenic Cornwall South Coast Path. In addition, throughout the year Looe hosts a range of events including sailing regattas, a jazz festival, carnival week and even a duck race! New Year at Looe is made really special with the whole town celebrating in fancy dress and fireworks at midnight off the beach.
A lovely picturesque railway running along the river connects East Looe to Liskeard giving further access to the national network.
The river divides East and West Looe and both areas have a wealth of quaint buildings, cobbled streets, award winning restaurants, cafes, traditional pubs and a variety of interesting shops, art galleries and boutiques.

Pay and display car parking is available (approx.£15 to £24 per week depending on season) at the Millpond Car Park (5 minute walk) with luggage drop off at the property on arrival and departure.
Off peak short breaks available from November to December 2006 and January to April 2007.
