Within easy striking distance of the art cities of Lucca, Sienna, Florence and Pisa this is an ideal location for a visit to Tuscany.

The villa is divided into three apartments with separate entrances. This ground floor apartment has been tastefully renovated and furnished and has a fully equipped, modern kitchen. The largest apartment in the house with glass patio doors to the outside eating area, it also has a large living/dining room and kitchen area including a large marble table seating up to 10 people as well as two sizeable bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The accommodation is flexible and can be rented as separate apartments or as a whole villa to suit larger parties. Discounts are available for whole villa rental. Electricity and heating are included in the cost.
There is an outdoor eating area, swimming pool, barbeque and garden furniture in the extensive grounds of the house. The owner can also provide an al fresco catering service with lunch or dinner brought to you, made from local produce, by arrangement, at a very reasonable cost.
Castelnuovo, the nearby market town has many restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets and all other types of shops as well as a tourist information office and a weekly market selling a wide variety of fashion, household goods, flowers, fruit and vegetables.
The nearby medieval villages of Cascio, Eglio and Sassi are worth exploring. There is a very good restaurant and bar within a five minute leisurely walk from the villa.
Mountain biking, hill walking and horse riding are all available locally.

Local activities in and around Castelnuovo Di Garfagnana, Tuscany
Apart from the obvious city destinations of Florence, Lucca and Sienna that attract people to Tuscany there are also many local places to visit. You sholdn't have to go much more than ten miles in any direction to appreciate what the area has to offer.
Most villages in the Garfagnana area are medieval and Castiglioni, Corfino, Silico and San Romano are amongst the best. The 'Orriciella' is a Parco De Naturale and has very easy walks with several quiet bars and restaurants. Lago De Vagli (Vagli Sotto) and Lago Di Pontecossi are lovely lakeside picnic spots where rowing and motor boats can be hired.
Barga is an atmospheric, historical town with strong Scottish connections. Castelnuovo and Barga both have public swimming pools as does Piazza al Serchio further along the valley.
For a day at the beach, the fashionable resort of Forti Dei Marmi is around 45kms away.
From Pisa to Lucca then north to Castelnuovo. Detailed directions supplied. English speaking mini-bus airport pick-up and taxi service can be arranged.
