Set in a small, peaceful hamlet surrounded by beautiful rolling Vendèe countryside the cottage is, nevertheless, well placed for exploring the region, being central to La Rochelle/west coast beaches, Poitiers, Puy du Fou and Venise Verte.
Comprising two bedrooms, lounge-dining room, bathroom/separate toilet and kitchen, which opens directly onto a large level garden, the cottage makes a comfortable home for couples or small families. An ideal place to relax or to come back to after a hard day's exploring!

The cottage is furnished and equipped as follows: One double bedroom, one twin room (with low head-height) both with wardrobe and drawer space. Lounge-dining room with table and chairs, sofa and easy chairs, CD/radio/cassette player, log burning stove for early/late visitors. Bathroom with 'sabot' bath and shower over. Separate toilet.
The Kitchen has a full cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, cafetière and plenty of crockery, cutlery, cookware etc. The garden has table, chairs, sunshade, sun-loungers and barbecue. Boules and badminton available. Private, off-road parking alongside the cottage.
The nearby village has a very good boulangerie with small èpicerie, a bar/restaurant with outside seating, two hairdressers and a tennis court! Our nearest town, La Châtaigneraie (6kms), has supermarkets, shops, banks, bars, restaurants and all the normal services you would expexct from a small French town. There is also a very good out-door swimming pool.

Our local leisure lake with bar/restaurant, pedaloes, crazy golf, small swimming pool, picnic tables and marked walks is only 3kms away. Other local activities includes horse-riding, micro-lite flights, tree-top adventure course, go-karting and fishing - all withing ten minutes drive.
Slightly further afield, the picturesque medievel village of Vouvant is a constantly popular place, with lovely views over the old walls. The forest of Mervent with lots of walks, its large lake for swimming and boating and various activites hidden away.
Other nearby places of interest include Mouilleron en Pareds, birthplace of Georges Clemenceau. Bazoges en Pareds with its wonderful donjon and medieval garden. Fontenay le Comte, a rennaisance town and former capital of the Vendèe. Puy du Fou - the amazing historical park of Vendèe history.
