A newly- and sympathetically-restored gite in the beautiful setting of a manor house garden in the village of Espondeilhan-Cabrerolles near Servian, 10kms north of Beziers.
This property is immaculately presented and comfortable for 4 people. Many of the original features have been retained: exposed beams, stripped wooden doors and terracotta tiles. The house is centrally-heated and has a lovely wood-burning stove so it's a great place to stay out-of-season as well as in summer.
The Pavillon has a courtyard garden for al fresco eating and relaxing. But you can also make use of the beautiful terrace and garden of the manor house which is shared with the guests in the small bed and breakfast here. You may also use the sauna in the manor house garden for a small extrra charge.
The surrounding area is beautiful with lots of vineyards, chateaux and rolling countryside. However you are just 15 mins from Beziers and 20 mins from the Mediterranean coast.
You enter the light, airy rooms through the French windows from the gravelled terrace of the courtyard garden. Renovated nicely and decorated with good taste, the kitchen and living room are open plan and a stone staircase leads to the first floor where you'll find two good-size bedrooms overlooking the garden and a spacious bathroom.
The house is situated about 10kms north of Beziers and about 20 minutes drive from the Mediterranean coast in a small hamlet called Cabrerolles (loosely translated as the home of frolicking lambs). The manor house itself is operated as a small bed and breakfast by the owners who live there, so at busy times there may be other holiday-makers around. The slightly larger village of Espondeilhan is close by. It's a peaceful, rural setting in the midst of rolling countryside. Two bicycles are available for your use.

Local activities in and around Servian, Languedoc-Roussillon
The local village Espondeilhan is a short walk away (1km) and has a bakers. All other shopping facilities, a mini-supermarket and bar/restaurants are in Servian (3kms), for more shops and restaurants Beziers is 12 kms away.
You can visit the lively cities of Narbonne and Beziers, and the Canal du Midi with its staircase of 9 locks at Fontseranes. A short drive away is Pezenas with a lovely historic centre, very popular with English holiday-makers.
Other trips could include the medieval city of Carcassonne, the Cathar castles, and a 45 minute drive will bring you to the Cevennes mountains where there's lots of beatiful scenery. The Mediterranean coast offers swimming, sailing, water-skiing and wind-surfing, whilst the Rivers Orb and Herault offer swimming, canoeing and fishing.
The local markets are colourful and interesting in Servian, Pezenas and Beziers.
The village is about 15 minutes drive north of Beziers. The nearest motorway junctions are No's: 34 and 35 on the A9 Languedocienne.
