This is our third apartment, also situated in the walled courtyard to the rear of the owners' farmhouse. This one sleeps four people.
Los Rubiales is surrounded by rustic farmland with almond, olive and orange groves. Just off the beaten track, the passing traffic is likely to be tractors or a herd of goats out grazing. A 10 minute drive will take you to the town of Huercal Overa which boasts a good choice of bars and restaurants and a bustling market each week on Monday mornings.

It's hard work living here!
The apartment comprises of a large well equipped kitchen/dining room, a large bathroom with a spacious shower, and two bedrooms (one double, one twin). Outside your apartment in the shady courtyard are alfresco dining facilities. It is here that we offer optional Bar B Q evenings for those who would like a night off cooking and a drink without having to drive anywhere.
Step through the archway in the wall into a walled landscaped pool terrace. The pool is 8.5m x 4m and there are ample sun loungers plus shady places to sit. The pool terrace overlooks the surrounding countryside
All bed linen is included in the price. Bedrooms are furnished in pine. There are ample coat hangers in the wardrobes. A large bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower...big enough for two! Bathroom towels are included in the price.
The kitchen diner has a pine table and chairs in the centre of the room. Additional seating on an upholstered bench seat. There is a full size gas cooker with integral oven. The washing machine and iron are in a seperate utility room in the courtyard. This apartment has a fireplace. Additional heating by freestanding gas fire is available. A charge is made for gas/logs. Daily maid service included. Use of house phone by request for a small charge.

Children are most welcome however we lack special play facilities and organised activities. Elderly guests must be fully mobile as there are steps here and there.
Local activities in and around El Saltador, Almeria
Huercal Overa is a wonderful mix of old and new. The old town has grown up around the huge church which sits beside two plazas where everyone meets to pass the time of day. Recent development has seen many new shops, bars and restaurants appearand the town now has four supermarkets to choose from.
The nearest sandy beach is a picturesque half hour drive through the mountains, at San Juan de los Terreros. We are also only 40 minutes from the lively beach resort of Mojacar.
Local annual events include the Huercal Overa Fiesta in October, the Medieval Market (around 16th December) and the Santa Semana celebrations and processions that run all through Easter week. Many smaller villages have their own fiestas throughout the summer and auntunm.
Once we know which airport you are using we will send detailed directions either by e-mail or post. We are within easy reach of Almeria, Murcia or Alicante airports. Almeria is the closest.
