SLEEPS up to 5. Wonderful location in an historic area. An ideal location for walking to cafes, restaurants. Even the boating lido and SWIM CENTRE with its waterslides and sun terrace are 15 minutes walk away so you can forget the car!! WIFI also available for your laptop. Sit out in the garden in the evening to see the Abbey's floodlit clock tower! Although a NON SMOKING house you are welcome to smoke in the garden.
This 200 yr old house has been converted to give a light airy contemporary interior offering luxury accommodation situated opposite a leafy park in a quiet, historic quarter of the lively market town of St Jean d'Angely not far from the old Abbey.
The Charente-Maritime is well known for its mico-climate and has the reputation of being the next sunniest area after the south of France.

Les Hauteurs du Parc is a southeast facing house which catches the sun in the garden until early evening when you are glad of the respite! On the ground floor the elegant hallway leads past the lounge to the kitchen which is newly fitted with solid wood worktops and very well equipped. The kitchen looks out onto the garden so 'al fresco' eating is easy as you can simply pass plates etc via the window or door onto the patio table. At the far end of the kitchen there is a bathroom with bath and shower attachment and WC.
On the first floor there are 2 double bedrooms, one with a luxury en suite shower room. Both have ceiling fans. There is also a separate shower room on this floor. On the second floor there is a single 'loft' style bedroom with exposed beams and equipped with television and video recorder.

There is boating on the lido, and swimming at local swim centre which is very popular, riverside walks, fishing, horse riding in nearby village, and a 18 hole golf course 20 mins away. The twice weekly market in St Jean d'Angely will provide all the fresh produce you need and there is a good small supermarket in town if you don't want to get the car out! Also several boulangeries in the vicinity for your baguettes and croissants!
You are approx 45 mins from 2 beaches Fouras, and Chatelaillon Plage just south of La Rochelle. Futurscope at Poitiers is just over 1 hr away and the Marais Poitevin is also within easy reach for a day out exploring the waterways by boat.
St Jean is situated at Junction 34 on the A10 motorway. Directions to the house will be provided in advance of arrival.

Rental Notes: Changeovers are on Saturdays and arrival is after 4pm with departure before 10 am.
