Le Grenier is one of 4 charming gites converted from the original half timbered farm buildings of Aou Carde. Aou Carde is situated in the heart of the Gascon countryside, in an elevated position on the edge of a hamlet with stunning views of the Pyrenees. You can relax in the private garden of Le Grenier or admire the extensive grounds of Aou Carde.
Le Grenier is perfect for a family holiday, or a house-hunting expedition. It has access to a fantastic swimming pool, paddling pool, with loungers and parasols, a well-equipped games room and play area. You can be assured of a warm welcome all the year round in this tranquil country setting; it is an ideal place for nature-lovers, cyclists and walkers as well as those who just want to relax, yet is only 8 minutes drive to Masseube with all its' facilities.
The Gers is an unspoilt area of rural France with a timeless quality of life, there is little traffic so driving is a joy amidst the beautiful ever-changing scenery.

Le Grenier was converted from the grainstore and has a wealth of original features including stone walls and exposed beams. There are several farm implements decorating the walls. A well –behaved dog is welcome in this gite out of season.
Outside is a private entrance/parking space with shady patio and garden. Stairs lead from the patio up to the first floor open-plan living space. The kitchen has cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and a full range of utensils, it leads into the dining area. The lounge area has comfortable seating plus English t.v. and video, a large video library is available. There is a wealth of visitors information.
The double bedroom is on this floor and also the shower room with wash-basin, toilet and shower. A twin-bedded room is reached by stairs from the living room and has wonderful views of the mountains
The large swimming pool(10 metres by 6.25 metres) has a depth of 1 to 2 metres with steps leading into it. and a separate toddlers pool, both are surrounded by a large paved and grassy area.All is surrounded by a child proof safety fence and gate.
The extensive grounds include shady seating areas, plenty of space for boules and badminton, well kept flower beds and a fascinating wildlife pond. There is an orchard of apples, plums, figs and pears which guests are welcome to pick, as well as herbs and vegetables.
The well equipped games room includes table tennis, pool table, table football, darts and skittles. There is also a library, information board, boxed games and toys.
The play area has several swings, a slide and sand pit. The nearest bakery is five minutes drive away, and the nearest banks, supermarkets, and other facilities are an eight minutes drive.

8 minutes from supermarkets, shops and restaurant in Masseube. 20 minutes from bastide town of Mirande with its Monday market and country and western festival. 30 minutes from Auch the capital of the Gers with its labyrinth of narrow streets and magnificent cathedral. 45 minutes from Marciac with its world famous jazz festival in August. 45 minutes from Vic-Fezenzac which has a Tempo-Latino festival and interesting night markets. 60 minutes from Condom with its cathedral and Armagnac museum plus boat trips on the River Baise. 90 minutes from Pyrenees National Park and ski runs. Lourdes – the world famous religious site is just over an hour way The Atlantic Coast at Biarritz/St Jean de Luz is within easy reach. (two and a quarter hours. ) Carcassonne is a wonderful day out. (two and a quarter hours. ) Local 9 hole golf course in Masseube Three 18 hole golf courses within half an hours drive at Auch (L’Embats) Tillac (Chateau Pallane ) and Lannemezan. Local markets-- Each small town has its weekly market and a holiday in France would not be complete without a visit to one or more of them. Ludina water park in Mirande with toboggans, water chute and cascades. Several leisure lakes in the area ( Mielan, Marciac, Gondrin, Samatan,etc) Music Festivals….. Country & Western in Mirande, Tempo-Latino in Vic Fezansac and of course Jazz in Marciac. Horse riding & tennis nearby Le Vert en L’Air…..aerial runway in Pavie…..a great day out for all ages. Quad biking near Auch. Canoeing on the River Baise at Beauclaire. Rafting in the Pyrenees near St Lary or Bethram Walking the Pyrenees……visit Pont d’Espagne, Cirque de Gavarnie and the lakes in the Neouvielle Reserve. Cable car ride to the top of the Pic du Midi . Bird watching : the area supports a wealth of wildlife especially birds of prey. Caves at Bethram & Gargas. Sight-seeing historic bastide towns & chateaux.

Aou Carde farmhouse offers bed and breakast, and evening meals, this is very convenient if you want to take advantage of cheaper mid-week flights!
The owners live in the farmhouse on site and are very welcoming and happy to help and advise you.
