A lovely 4 bedroom semi detached house down a quiet lane surrounded by farm land & beautiful sea views. 2 minutes walk to the Silver Coast cliffs & 4 minutes along the same path to the golden sandy beach which stretches for miles from Praia d'el Rey golf resort, voted number 2 in Europe, at one end to Baleal/Peniche beach at the other which is life guard protected in the summer months.
Further along as you walk around this coastline you will come to Peniche, the historic fishing town & local shopping area full of great restaurants with food at incredible prices. Baleal is much loved by surfers who come to surf even at Christmas! There are bars & beach restauraunts open all year round, The Goucho, is great. Across the road from our property is the Game Bar which has all the best in live coverage for the football fan and pool tables, it stays open very late but it's a family atmosphere with locals, there's never any noise from the bars. Horse riding is 5 minutes away in San Bernadino

A three storey traditional style house with central heating if chilly. Sleeps up to 8 people, the top of the house is a big open plan loft space, great for children & it has it's own kids shower and toilet with great views for miles around and a secluded balcony area. There are 3 single beds up there with a double futon & lots of room to spare.
Coming down the marble staircase from the attic entering the first floor bedrooms you will find one has a grey slate tiled on-suite shower room with views out to the sea, the fields, and as far as the Marriott Hotel. The other two rooms have there own balcony's, they all have fitted wardrobes & cupboards. There is also the family bathroom with bath & fitted shower
Coming down to the ground floor you immediately enter into the living room which is very light & spacious with stone flooring. The living room has a real fire with a glass front door. There are two patio doors in the living room which open out to the front of the property & that has a little patio area to sit.
Back inside is the down stairs shower room & toilet, easy access from the beach to shower off the sand. Through to the open plan Kitchen & Dinning room with lots of Kitchen utensils & enough tableware & glass to cater for ten people. The Dinning table seats six but extras can be added on with the garden furniture which is stored in the garage which you can access through the garden.
In the garden is the patio/barbecue. (You can buy fresh fish daily in Ferrel) There is outside lighting, to sit out under the stars and relax. You can reach the Marriott by driving up the farm lane at the back of the house in just over 5 minutes, the road way is 10 minutes for great golf and swimming facilities, and the water park is 5 minutes away in season.

Bedrooms:
3 Double Bedrooms, 1 Family Bedroom. The attic room has 3 single beds and 1 double Futon aimed at the children with a small shower room but adults could use it also if needed. Two of the double bedrooms have king size beds. Sleeps 6+.
Bathrooms:
1 Bathroom, 3 Showers. The bathroom also has a shower in it, and a bidet. One shower room and toilet is down stairs, they all have stone floors for easy clean and sand removal.
Kitchen:
Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Washing Machine, Iron. All the house windows open inwards, but the little bathroom windows also open on a tilt. The boiler can be found in the kitchen in a cupboard with instructions for the gas and hot water.
General:
Real Fire, Central Heating, Maid Service, Telephone, House Linen, Towels Provided, Internet Access. I can arrange for extra cleaning and ironing if required. Between the two houses I could accommodate 10-20 people. Even if some slept in one house you could all be reunited. We have skype and Vonage.
Dining:
Seating for 8. We have the spare wooden garden furniture if people need to extend the table seating arrangements. This Christmas 9 of us sat outside in the garden eating our Christmas Dinner it was so warm.
Entertainment:
Terrestrial TV, Satellite TV, Video, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games, Table Tennis. Over the road at the Sports Bar are big screens for Football coverage and they have lots of snooker tables as well as internet. The end of our lane you can hire surf gear at Peniche surf camp.
Outside:
Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Balcony, Garden Furniture. The lane in front will lead you to the cliffs and the beach. In the garden there's a large trampoline and table tennis but the beach is favourite!!!!!!!

Wheelchairs are welcome and could enter through the front patio doors, wc/shower downstairs. Depending on ability to use the stairs they may need to bring the futon down to the living room to sleep.
Local activities in and around Peniche, Costa de Prata
There are lots of surfing schools if you want to learn to surf & surfing shops. You can do kite surfing at Peniche beach.The beach walks are beautiful also.
There are lots of Golfing oportunities locally, 5 minutes away at the Marriott Hotel in Praia d'el Rey. The Hotel also has a great indoor & outdoor pool, fitness room as well as spa & leisure facilities, tennis courts, football pitch. They are very welcoming at the Marriott
You can hire bikes if you want to cycle around the beautiful countryside. There is also tennis courts in Peniche. Down on Baleal beach the bars often have discos & live music. Caldas da Rainha is bigger than Peniche for shopping, about 20 minutes away passing the beautiful walled city, world heritage site of Obidos, a must visit for holiday makers
Obidos lagoon is a big attraction in the summer I like to view it from Foz do Arelho sitting in one of the relaxing bars especially at sunset. Sintra is also a magical place to visit with it's mixture of fairytale & gothic palaces, beautiful woodlands & streams. And of course you can't go to the Silver Coast and not visit Lisbon. Jumping on and off a plane at the airport is not good enough. A bus goes frequently through out the day to Lisbon for 7€ and the open bus tour of the city is highly recommended, as well as the Zoo with the dolphin and seal show, the kids will love that, and the Oceanarium at the Vasco de Gama centre is a must
And then there's the shopping. If you like to shop till you drop then go to Lisbon in your most comfortable shoes. It has everything from the old town & designer shops to the great big Columbo Shopping mall. On returning to Peniche on the bus relax in one of the bars or highly recommended fish restaurents for a beautiful meal and wine which won't cost you much more than a Mc Donalds (yuck) in the UK.

The Silver Coast people are great and lots speak English. From Peniche the Taxi driver only charges 7€ home.
Leaving Lisbon Airport ( hire car) from the carpark come straight onto a roundabout, 1st exit right, follow signs the A8 Oeste, and keep going till you see signs for Peniche on the IP6.

Rental Notes: In 2008/2009 my house "Casa Huckleberry" will be available for renting, but I am renting out my next door neighbours house which is the same as mine but in a more traditional style, teracotta tiles.
You can book either mine "Casa Huckleberry" or my neighbors house or both if you have up to 20 people to accommodate.
10% deposit is payable on booking and the remainning is due on arrival. A reservation fee of £60.00 per week is deducted if holiday is cancelled.
A separate deposit of £100 to cover any damages, misuse or neglect of my property is held for the week, but is returned to holiday makers once the property has been checked and cleaned after their departure and my cleaner has let me know that everything has been looked after and nothing damaged. And that people have empted their own rubbish in the local communal bins and not left it at the house. There are lots of recycling bins and rubish bins up the main streets, they don't have house to house bin collection locally.
