Bansko offers conditions for ski sports which are comparable not only to the leading Bulgarian Ski resorts but also to the European ski resorts at half the price!
Bansko is the host to the Extreme Ski and Snowboarding competition as well as the Balkan Cup and has the only snowboarder’s half pipe in Eastern Europe.
There are also slalom and giant slalom as well as cross-country tracks with a total length of 5km.
The skiing conditions in Bansko are fantastic. The Pirin Mountain has a predominantly Alpine character with 2 peaks towering above 2900 m. However, the slopes offer runs and tracks for all types of skiers and will suit both beginners and experts.
Bansko has a lot to offer the summer traveller. It is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
Apart from the more traditional entertainments and sleeping late, there are quite a few things to occupy your time. Picnic sites are plentiful in the Pirin Mountains and the locals have constructed hearths where you can cook up a feast. For a lighter meal you could take a hike in the woods and feast on the abundant berries which ripen in late July and August. You can spend a day and climb the highest peak of the Pirin Mountain, Vitren (2,914 metres). From Bansko you drive to the Vitren hut, which is at the foot of the peak, leave your car there and climb to the peak.
There are plenty of cheap buses running every day from Sofia to Bansko, as well as taxis being very affordable. By car it is just over a 2 hour drive.

Rental Notes: The apartment will be clean and ready from 2pm onwards and includes all linen and bedding. Checkout is by 12.00pm on the day of departure as the apartment will need cleaning for the new guests.
There is a 24-hour security guard who lives in the basement apartment who can organise fire lighting for you and new logs. If you wish to have a daily light clean then this is possible at a small extra cost.
There is a telephone number on the wall outside our apartment for a taxi service to the Gondola station which is inexpensive.
Four weeks prior to your stay we will require the balance for the apartment, once received we will then send you a set of keys, on arrival the security guard will issue you with an additional set of keys.
