This famous sundial village is located in the shady area of the Benicadell mountain, among fruit trees, vineyards and olive trees, picturesque peach orchards and mountains peaks by lovely country side with views that stretch for miles and miles and the nearby mountains are perfect for outdoor activities.
The 3 storey, fully furnished 3 bedroom house, can accommodate up to 6 people. Located in the picturesque old Spanish town of Otos.
You will find the locals are friendly and helpful. There are also a few English owners living in the town. Otos is one of the prettiest village to be found in Spain. It also still uses the antiquated system of a village tannoy system just one of the lovely idiosyncrasies of the old town.
Visit the Marquess of Otos' Palace, the most important civil building of the town. It was built in the 18th century and has recently been restored.
Take the opportunity to visit some beautiful nature spots. Just a 10 minute drive away there is a huge fresh water lake near Beniarres. This is popular destination for locals who regularly fish there. Also nearby is Castelo Rugat, the next town which is approx 5 min drive, here one can find many types of shops, weekly street market, schools, doctors, banks, bars, restaurants, plus a very popular (Spanish owned) Irish theme bar with restaurant etc.
Otos itself hosts three restaurant/bars. The villagers like to eat out in the restaurants and paella can be specially prepared at one of the restaurants (order day before), you won't be disappointed.
For shopping, there is a Saturday market in the village square. Other amenities include a hairdressers, pharmacy, tobacconist, bakery, butcher, shops available along with daily visits to the village from a fish monger, frozen food specialist etc. A daily bus service is available on request.
For those who may want the night life element or beautiful beaches, Gandia is just a 20 minute drive. You can also catch a train from Gandia to Valencia and visit Europe's largest aqua park or appreciated the beautiful architecture of the city.
If you want to see the real Spain and have an authentic Spanish experience and witness a fading tradition of the old way of life, then Otos is a place you must visit!

Local activities in and around Otos, Valencia - Costa Azahar
The village has a large communal swimming pool for adults and smaller pool for children. - Shower facilities - Life guard attendance.
History - Famous sundials can be seen on the local buildings, people from all over the world come to view. Otos has spectacular street events in the first week in August.
Activities - Good place for quad bikes, walking, bird watching and relaxing. This part of Spain is stated by The World Health Organisation as being the healthiest place in Europe!
Alternatively, take a drive into bustling Gandia (20 mins). You can shop till you drop, visit the fabulous blue flag beaches or take a mountain walk. This location is suitable for families or couples wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday. Perhaps, more importantly it also boasts some of the longest and widest unspoilt beaches imaginable. Gandia also has an excellent and regular train service to the historic city of Valencia, the third largest city of Spain.
Gandia is the main coastal town of La Safor and offers all amenities of a city plus an award winning golden sandy beach resort which is the no. 1 resort for Spanish tourism. There is the Club Nautico and Marina on the beach plus there are many popular bars and restaurants and club / discothèques for the younger generation. The properties on the beach are mainly holiday homes owned by Spanish who come to the coast whilst the children have their school holidays. In the summer months the Playa is absolutely overflowing with life, party atmosphere and fiestas, throughout the remaining months of the year however it is extremely quiet therefore superb for long peaceful walks, horse riding, water sports or private sunbathing in the winter sunshine. There are numerous blue flag sandy beaches to be found here.
Albaida is 10 minutes away with beautiful shops, train, and historical places to visit. Albaida has a very grand Christian/Muslim parade in October.

Gandia City & Beach
Gandia at the northern tip of Costa Blanca is the second city of the Province of Valencia.
The Ducal Palace and Cathedral offer rare glimpses of old Spain. Totally unspoilt, yet being a truly sophisticated working Spanish city, with a wealth of good modern shops, tree lined walkways, parks and squares, the whole town is on a level plane. It is compact so that almost any part is within a pleasant walking distance from the city centre. It is surrounded by orange groves and picturesque mountains. Just three kilometres away is the Port, Yacht Basin and Gandia Playa coastal resort offering a seven Km promenade (over underground car parking).
BEACH Playa
This beach is wide, long and clean with very good facilities. Starts shallow for kids. Lots of guards and police patrols, beach bars and loos, underground parking. Promenade is popular for strolling in the evening and loads of shops, stalls and restuarants nearby. Morning and evening aerobics sessions.
From Valencia Airport, take route for Alicante, V31, interior, take A-7, CV60 (exit 640), CV40, exit at exit 11 Gandia, at roundabout, take 3rd exit and continue on CV60, and then take CV616 to Otos.
