Villa with 2 Bedrooms, Sleeps 5, Garden, Swimming Pool
Picturesque 2 bedroom villa, set in the valley of the Safor Mountains, just outside of the quiet village of La Barraca. The property includes a private pool (8mx10m)and beautiful garden areas, with a fountain and traditional stone garden furniture. It is the perfect place for a calm and relaxing getaway.
The peaceful villa offers scenic valley views and is within 15 mins of the beach and the local towns of Alzira and Tavernes. It is only 40 mins south of historic Valencia city, and its new port area, built for the 2007 America's Cup.
The villa has a large living area and a fully-fitted kitchen, including a washing machine. There is a spacious family bedroom, with a king-size bed and a single bed, and a separate double room. We bought the villa only three years ago, so all contents are less than three years old, giving the villa a fresh, modern atmostphere. The living room opens out onto a large, tiled balcony with fabulous mountain views, for outdoor dining and relaxing.
Villa Santa Marina is a traditional two-storey chalet, set on the mountainside in the Safor mountains of Valencia. It is a private villa, in a quiet urbanisation of mainly Spanish families. The villa has its own pool and large garden areas. It is the perfect place for resting, relaxing and catching some sun.
It is 40 mins from Valencia airport and 1h30 mins from Alicante.
The top floor of the villa is the holiday home, with two bedrooms (one family, one double), a bathroom, living room (with double sofa bed), kitchen and balcony. (The bottom floor is currently unused.) The interior has been recently renovated and is bright, modern and beautifully-kept. The house is maintained by an English couple who live locally. The villa is perfect for holiday-makers looking for a relaxing stay, by a pool. And for those who love the beach, shopping, or a bit of history, you won't have to travel too far.
The balcony is the ideal setting for quiet evenings of conversation and, if you want to see a bit of action, the local village is a short walk down the road.
For those who like to party, the local town of Alzira has many bars and clubs, as does the beach town of Tavernes. But Valencia city can't be beaten for a fantastic night out! The choice of bars, clubs and restaurants is endless.
The local area provides activities for people of all ages and the villa is the perfect place for those who want to do very little. You could fill your days out and about, exploring the wonders of Valencia, or stay home at the villa, making the most of its quiet charm. The choice is yours - a perfect balance of rest and excitement!

Seating for 6. Dining table is situated on the balcony (access through living room), surrounded by the scenic valley views.

N.B. Pool not available during March and April due to cooler weather.

Young children would find the garden a problem (many steps, etc.) but families with older children are welcome.
Local activities in and around Alzira, Valencia - Costa Azahar
The local village is a 5 minute walk away, with shops and bars to meet every-day needs. The village is a taste of "real Spain", with friendly locals and traditional Spanish meals available at the local restaurants.
The surrounding area is full of walking and cycling routes, with the beautiful Valencian National Park very close by. The local area also has three monasteries and many secluded villages, giving you a chance to experience traditional Spain and its history.
The nearest towns are Alzira and Tavernes, which offer supermarkets, various restaurants and nightlife, and are each a 15 min drive away.
Tavernes beach is only 15 mins away and Cullera beach and water park are within a 30 min drive, both offering a variety of bars and restaurants. Gandia's fabulous European Blue Flag Beach is a 40 min drive away.
The historic city of Valencia is easily accessed by car, or by train from Alzira station. The city offers great shopping, and its science museum and aquarium are a must-see. In 2007, Valencia hosted The America's Cup and the port was transformed for the occasion.
The traditional market town of Xativa is 30 mins away and boasts a medieval castle and much history.
The Oliva Nova golf course is a 35 min drive away.
In the month of August the region comes to life with traditional Spanish fiestas. Each town and village has its own celebrations, including live music, fairgrounds, processions and, of course, plenty to eat and drink!
In mid-March, the Valencia region hosts the Fallas celebrations. This is a fabulous spectacle of fireworks, bonfires and partying on an enormous scale.

Rental Notes: Rent is payable upon booking to secure the villa, plus a refundable deposit of £200 to cover breakages etc. We accept cheques or secure payment by credit card through PayPal (added handling fee of £10).
Normally guests would be expected to vacate the property by 10am on the day they leave. Arrivals after 2pm. These details can be flexible, depending on the changeover situation week to week.
