This charming selfcatering cottage is located on the edge of of a tranquil hamlet and has beautiful countryside views. It boasts half an acre of garden and a large 6x12 m. pool. The cottage is situated in a tranquil hamlet in rolling farmland on the edge of the forest of Gresigne, close to the famous Gorges of the River Aveyron and only one hour's drive from Toulouse International Airport. It offers an idyllic spot for active people, for walking, cycling, canoeing and many other sports, while the unspoilt countryside around is a haven for wildllife and birds. The owners would also welcome longer lets for aspiring homeowners in France.
La Cordonnerie is a very comfortable house, tastefully restored to retain some of its original 18C features. Residents of La Cordonnerie also have the sole use of a large garden and a 6 x12 metre swimming pool with diving board, pool house and sun loungers.
The hamlet is close to the villages of Vaour and that of Penne, perched high up on a rock face above the river Aveyron. The busy medieval market town of St Antonin-Noble-Val, a centre for canoeing with a delightful weekly market is on the riverside just 8 miles away. It is an ideal location from which to visit the many regional historic sites.
Located between the cities of Cahors, Albi and Montauban and within easy reach of the famous " Bastide" towns of BruniqueI, Puycelci, Castelnau de Montmiral, Larroque, Penne, Cahuzac and Cordes, it is an ideal location from which to visit the many historic sites in the region. Albi, a beautiful regional capital on the river Tarn, is very worthwile a visit with its historic cathedral and museum dedicated to the artist Toulouse Lautrec. The fairy city of Carcassonne is 2 hours drive south, the Pyrenees can be reached in 2 hours.

1 Double Bedroom, 1 Twin Bedroom. two good size attractive bedrooms both with ample wardrobe storage space. The masterbedroom has lovely views over the countryside, with a king size bed. The other bedroom has twin beds.
Bathrooms:
1 Bathroom, 1 Shower. The masterbedroom has an ensuite bathroom with full length bath, shower over, washbasin and toilet. The singles bedroom is on the ground floor and has a modern shower room , washbasin and toilet.
Telephone, House Linen, Towels Provided. Duvets, pillows, towels are included as is gas, electricity and water. All rooms have individual electric wall heaters. A telephone is available for local calls only.
Dining:
Seating for 4. The living/dining room has views over the countryside and plenty of comfortable seating, satellite tv- video and stereo unit. The dining table has 4 matched chairs and table setting for 4.
Entertainment:
Satellite TV, Video, Radio, CD System, Board Games. A range of video’s & boardgames supplied. Engl tv. We supply a range of well maintained bicycles free.Garden offers excellent space for Badminton; rackets, net and shuttlecocks supplied.
Outside:
Private Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. Private terrace, BBQ, patio furniture,and small secluded garden. Sole use of large garden with fenced 6 x12 m. floodlit pool with diving board, sun loungers. Swimming season May to approx October.

Staircases make our property unsuitable for wheelchair access and for persons with difficult mobility. We would encourage our guests not to smoke inside. For pets, please contact the owners.
Local activities in and around St Antonin Noble Val, Midi-Pyrenees
Within 12 kms: The hamlet is close to the villages of Vaour and the village of Penne, perched high up on a rock face above the river Aveyron. The busy medieval market town of St Antonin-Noble-Val, a centre for canoeing with a delightful weekly market is on the riverside just 8 miles away.
The surrounding countryside is rich in wildlife, with a wide variation of landscape from cultivated fields to a forest that is said to be the least polluted in Europe. Walkers can use the nearby GR46, or the many tracks and paths which lead off in many directions. The quiet road and tracks are ideal for cyclists, with a terrain to suit the reasonably fit. Other sports catered for nearby are horse riding, caving, tennis and golf. Leisure centres are approx 30 mins drive away.
Wider area: It is an ideal location from which to visit the many regional historic sites: Cordes, Najac, Bruniquel, Puycelci, Castelnau de Montmirail, Penne, Gaillac and Albi. The fairy city of Carcassonne is only 2 hours drive away.The old towns of Toulouse , Cahors and Montauban are worth visiting ( all within 1hours drive). Shopping, restaurants and vineyards: The nearest local shop is in Vaour or in Penne, within 5km distance.
Supermarkets as well as the nearest bank can be found as local as St Antonin (12km), and within 25 km, in Caussade and Montauban. Taste the many interesting Gaillac wines produced from small vineyards from Campagnac (only 7 miles away) to Gaillac and Albi; other local wines are from Cahors, Montauban and further down. For a meal out a wide choice is available, from very local to within half and hour's drive.
St Malo (Brittany Ferries or P&O) down via Bordeaux direction of Toulouse (ca. 500 miles). Calais over Paris bypass to Brive/Cahors. By air to Toulouse or Carcassonne. (Easyjet, Ryanair).

Change over day: Saturday, arrive after 16.00 pm & leave before 10.00 am.
Rental includes bedlinen and towels, electricity and gas.
A deposit of £150 will be required for the property on booking reservation; the deposit will be returnable upon leaving the property in good order.
Payment of the full rental fee is due at least 28 days before the start of the rental period and cheques should have cleared before.
The cottage will be cleaned prior to arrival of the occupants, beds made up and a set of clean linen & towels provided.
