Local activities in and around Armoy, Northern Ireland

Golfers can perfect their game at any one of twelve golf courses. Anglers will enjoy some of the best game and coarse fishing in Europe, and every type of water sport is available from scuba diving to water skiing and surfing. The Giant's Causeway with its 40,000 stone columns was the first world heritage site in Ireland. It is Ireland's most famous tourist attraction and a must for all visitors to Ireland (and it's only 15mins away!)

The small village of Bushmills can claim to have the oldest licenced whiskey distillery in the world, established in 1608. There are organised tours to see and sample the various whiskeys. Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge, This swinging rope bridge spans a 60ft wide chasm, giving access to the salmon fishery. We dare you to cross! Not for the faint hearted.

Dunluce Castle, A romantic ruin clinging to a crag almost surrounded by the sea, this was once the main fort of the Irish MacDonells, chiefs of Antrim. Portrush is noted for its splendid location with sandy beaches on all sides. If a bit of "craic" and a good meal is what you are after, then the many good quality restaurants and pubs will make your stay even more memorable.

Royal Portrush Golf club has played host to many prestigious competitions including the British Open. With the variety and quality of the challenging links and parkland courses.

The 9 Glens of Antrim are a truly mystical and enchanting place. Spectacular glen walks and waterfalls await the visitor to Glenariff Forest Park. Portstewart, With its pretty harbour and coastal paths the whole town forms an Atlantic Promanade leading to 2 miles of golden strand. The Coastal Drive, From Larne to Portstewart take the coast road and enjoy the spectacular views and call in at quaint villages and harbours, such as, Cushendun, Ballintoy & Dunseverick. Rathlin Island by ferry from Ballycastle. The island has a small beach, diving centre, a pub, a restaurant & Northern Ireland's largest colony of seabirds.
