Chateau de Cautine - Beautiful little boutique 17th Century chateau
Chateau/Castle with 10 Bedrooms, Sleeps 16, Garden, Swimming Pool
Chateau de Cautine, near Rocamadour and Lascaux, is an ancient chateau full of atmosphere, cosy corners, huge fireplaces, masses of antiques, sleigh beds, a ‘Rapunzel’ tower, even a chapel with a confessional! Surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of forests and mountains, and the beautiful valley of the Dordogne, Cautine lies within a spectacular setting.
With plenty of accommodation for up to 16 and room for an extra 6 children, a chateau holiday for a large group or shared amongst a number of families or couples suddenly becomes very affordable!
If you are a smaller group, we can rent suites in the Chateau. The smallest suite is for 4 people, and we have two other suites for 5 people and 7 people. Each suite has its own bathroom.
Not only do you get to stay 'boutique' in a chateau for a budget price, you also get a package price which includes an array of activities and sports comparable to Club Med without the 'package' feel - from hangliding to mushroom picking, and everything in between! Choose from........the FAMILY package...the ADRENALIN package....the EXPERTS package....the RELAXING package....the KIDS package....OR....CREATE YOUR OWN PACKAGE. Either self-catering or all-inclusive or something in between...we will combine it for you...and your budget.
'Chateau de Cautine is like stepping straight into a film' as one of our guests put it. Full of original antiques, cosy furnishings, sleigh beds, huge open fireplaces it has a 15-metre salt-water pool, 34 acres of fields and woods and its own stream. It's great for both kids and adults to roam around in (there's even a chest full of wellie boots)!
We start our prices off low so everyone can afford it. You can share a triple room for a week with extra beds for the kids and do your own catering or your can have the full monty with your own suite, breakfast in bed, fluffy dressing gowns and slippers and pre-dinner cocktails and nibbles. Or you can do a bit of both to make it fun. You can also rent the whole chateau.
We've teamed up with some of the best adventure sports companies in the Dordogne and we can offer you a very special range of activities for everyone from total sports enthusiasts to absolute beginners and from 5 years to 75 years of age!! We can take you to all your activities and have guides/tuition for everything or you can go it alone...up to you! Everyone in the group can do a different activity so that takes care of the generation gaps and the expertise gaps and whatever other gaps you may have in your family, group or couple and you can all get together around the huge table in the evenings and compare notes while enjoying our delicious fare.
