Our home is ideally situated within a 15 minute drive of the Atlantic seaside town of Bundoran and a ½ hour from the bustling towns of Sligo and Donegal. 3 hours from Dublin, 2 hours from Belfast and 4 hours from Shannon. We invite you to experience our countryside retreat! Weekly and monthly rentals are available year-round.

Local activities in and around Bundoran, North West
Roosky Cottage is a wonderful base for exploring not only the countryside and nearby Atlantic Coast, but also the hustle and bustle of neighboring towns.
Shoppers and city folk will enjoy Donegal Town known for its castle, woolen sweaters, and tweeds, as well as Sligo town, famous for its music festival, crystal, W.B. Yeats, live theatre and pubs. Both are only ½ hour away. World re-known Belleek Pottery – home of exquisite china is only 15 minutes away. Families will love Bundoran, a popular Irish holiday resort with beaches, indoor water park, arcades, pubs and restaurants with entertainment.
Our area is a sportsman’s paradise. Fisherman will be challenged by trout and salmon on our own Lough Melvin and the River Drowes or sea fishing can be had in Bundoran. Golfers have the pick of 3 wonderful courses all within ½ hour of the cottage: Bundoran Golf Club: 16- par course set on the Donegal Bay Cliffs, Donegal Club Murvagh- 18 holes Par 73 links course set on a spectacular peninsula overlooking the Bay or Sligo Golf Club (Rosse's Point) 18 hole par 71 course under the shadow of famed Benbulbin Mountain.
Seek out Irelands past at numerous historical sites within 1 hour drive of the cottage. Carrowmore which contains megalithic tombs from 4000 BC and Parke's Castle are must see’s. County Fermanagh has a collection of Celtic remains; Devenish Island where a 12th century round tower stands and Boa Island with it’s eerie 1st Century Janus figures.
And if nature is your passion, go exploring on the many nature paths in the area. Just a ten minute drive from Roosky, you will find a hidden gem, a lovely tapered waterfall called Fowley's Falls, surrounded by woods and a 1 mile hiking trail.
And the best part is returning to Rooksy at night...just look up and see a wonderful star show for yours to behold!
