The Granary is situated in the village of High Husrtwood in a stunning rural location offering spectacular views. Well located for Tunbridge Wells, Buxted, Lewes, Glyndebourne, Ashdown Forest, Brighton & Eastbourne. London is approx an hour by train. The heated swimming Pool is available Mon - Frii 10am - 7pm for guests' use during the summer. The Granary stands in the grounds of the owners' farm offering peace & tranquility. It has a private fenced garden & patio/BBQ. Excellent walking in nearby Buxted Park with its herds of fallow deer, Ashdown Forest & the South Downs. Miles of footpaths locally, including Vanguard Way within a few mins stroll of the property & on the neighbouring farm. Within 10 Mins Buxted offers regular hourly Train service into London, Fishing, Fruit picking , T-Room & Farmshop. Nearby Uckfield has good local shops, cinema & supermarkets. Sheffield Park, Blue Bell Railway, Llama Park & many National Trust properties.. For golfers several excellent golf courses.
The Granary was recently converted into an extremely spacious 3 bedroom cottage offering good quality accomodation for 5. A large oak door opens into the terracotta tiled entrance lobby with boot rack & coat hooks, leading through to a large kitchen, once an old stable, with creme units, farmhouse sink, table, dresser, Cooker, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Microwave & large fridge/freezer. The dining area contains dresser, settee, & round table with 5 chairs. Leading off is the downstairs single bedroom with wrought iron bed, creme wardrobe & chest of drawers. Adjacent to it a new Victorian style bathroom, roll top bath & tongue and groove panelling. Feature wooden staircase leads to a very large and comfortable lounge carpeted throughout with 2 leather settees, further settee/chair, 2 Coffee Tables, Chest, TV, DVD, Music Centre, Gas Cast Iron stove, bookshelf & small side tables/lamps.
Extremely spacious carpeted twin room with wrought iron beds, fitted cupboard, dressing table, full length mirror & TV. Feature arched window with panoramic views. Large Double carpeted bedroom suite with feature arched window & similar breathtaking views, tastefully furnished in cremes, wrought iron bed, dressing table & chest of drawers, chair, full length mirror, TV with en suite shower room.
To the side & front of the Granary is a private fenced garden and Patio overlooking the glorious views with BBQ facilities and garden furniture. The Heated Fenced pool is set in it's own private very attractive fenced garden, and is available for resident guests' use between May and mid Sept. Security gate allows access to the driveway with secure parking for up to 2 cars immediately adjacent to The Granary. The owner's immaculate gardens & grounds are fenced with post and rail & their dogs, horses, and chickens, offering free range eggs to guests, are visible, but not intrusive! Regretfully the property is not suitable for children under 6 due to the pond and swimming pool.

Central Heating, House Linen, Towels Provided. Cast Iron Gas Stove/Fire, Winter Heating where applicable £60 pw. Towels @ £4 pp if required. Please bring your own pool towels. Summer electricity & linen included. Free range eggs when available!

Seating for 5. The dining room with Terracotta tiled floor leads from the kitchen overlooking the garden. It has a round table with seating for 5. There is also a period dresser and small settee.

DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games. TV in lounge, & upstairs bedrooms, radio in single room. DVD and Music Centre in lounge. Bookshelf with selection of books. Excellent walking on the neighbouring farm and numerous footpaths close by.

The Granary is superbly located to explore Sussex & much of Kent. Approximately 20 Mins from the world famous Glyndebourne Opera House in the quaint village of Glynde, 20 mins from the ancient Spa town of Tunbridge Wells, historical Lewes & famous Harveys Brewery, approx 35 mins to Brighton and Eastbourne, Alfriston & the nearby Druiselles Zoo, '1066' Country including Battle, Hastings & historical Rye & nearby Camber Sands Beach.
The local village of High Hurstwood offers a Pub, Church & Village Hall. Excellent walking area with extensive footpaths accessed from the farm. Very easy access to Ashdown Forest, Glyndebourne & South Downs. There are numerous places of interest in the area - Internationally known Glyndebourne Opera House in the pretty village of Glynde nr Lewes , Charleston Farmhouse at Firle country retreat to the Bloomsbury group, Blue Bell Railway nr Ashdown Forest, famous Sheffield Park Gardens, Pashley Manor Gardens, Great Dixter, Borde Hill, Herstmonseux Castle & Observatory venue of one the biggest Medieval Festivals in Europe. The South of England Show is held at Ardingly each year. Locally we have numerous National Trust/English Heritage properties: Michelham Priory, Bentley Wildfowl Trust, Wakehurst Gardens & Seedbank, Batemans home to Rudyard Kipling, Winston Churchill's Chartwell Nr Westerham, Hever Castle and Groombridge Place to name but a few.
Ashdown Forest with it's Winnie the Pooh connections at Hartfield, offers picnicking & miles of fabulous walking. There are also Riding Centres on the Forest from which horses may be hired. The South Downs also offer wonderful walking with breathtaking views. For racing enthusiasts there is nearby Plumpton Races, and for Golfers Sussex National Golf Course.

From A26 take A272 towards Heathfield/Buxted. Diagonally Opp Buxted Park Hotel entrance turn into Hurstwood Rd for 1 mile. Right into Fowley Lane for approx 1 mile and Huggetts Farm is on the Right.

4 Day Short Breaks subject to availability - 75% of weekly Rate.
On acceptance of a booking, we require 50% of the full amount, & balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival, plus £100 Refundable Security Deposit which includes hire of the Remote Gate Control. The deposit is returned when you leave.
Due to our livestock we cannot accept any pets. We run a strict no smoking policy which we ask guests to kindly respect.
Summer & Winter electricity is included. Winter heating is £60 per week. Arrival Time is from 3.30 pm & we respectfully ask guests to kindly vacate by 10am on Fri as we will need to get ready for the next guests.
